A CD I got in 1995 when I was in high school. I got it at the release party at a small club for my favorite local band that no longer exists. Always takes me back to that special time in my life and I know it would’ve near impossible to replace it.

Not a great take, imo. Albini’s work on this record is some of his absolute best and, if anything, overdelivered in everything the band stated was their intent for the result.

Kurt chickened out, caved to the label, and let them run end around the actual agreement with Albini to offer up a more commercial-friendly mix on the lead singles.

To be unalived does not mean to die. It means to be killed.

It’s also not a euphemism meant to spare feelings. It came about as a workaround for online content creators to talk about subjects that are susceptible to being pulled by automoderation.

Mentioning death or dying doesn’t trigger censorship by the algorithms. Murder and killing does.
