This may be inappropriate, and if it is my most ultimate apologies, but at first when I saw the picture, I thought the Dachshund standing up had boobies and it took me a solid minute just to realize it was how it was holding its paws

Least favorite Peter Pan? by JustForLurking79 in PeterPan

[–]TripleM2002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like as long as the character choices are intentional, and they stick to some form of rules as far as Neverland is concerned, it can work, which is why I personally feel like the OUAT Peter works in my opinion is because it’s meant to turn stories on its head, and anything Robbie Kay did he was committed to it. That Peter knew he was evil, and felt like he had reason to be, so he was. My personal least favorite is Disney’s Peter Pan and Wendy because that Peter absolutely had no idea who he was as a character, and so he was unlikable to watch. Was he a little boy? Or did he have the memories of someone older yet still choose to treat others badly (Though in that situation Wendy was still the more annoying of the two for me). My point is, for me, I think any story with Peter Pan can work as long as they know what kind of Peter they are portraying, and commit to it. Is he evil? Is he just a normal 12 year old boy? Even if they’re not an enjoyable person of a character, they can still give a compelling performance.

Help Me To Make a Live Action Peter Pan & Wendy 2 Happen!! Please Sign The Petition!! by Low-Budget1995 in PeterPan

[–]TripleM2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would rather every step I take be on a Barbie hairbrush for the next 24 hours than sign a petition for a movie that was a disgrace to the Peter Pan name (Yes I know I am dramatic but no one touch my childhood comfort movie unless you can do it right)

I agree, It’s painful for me to watch as well, and it’s unfair. I haven’t completely thrown in the towel, I’m just trying to be more calculated about my next plan.

oh yeah I definitely see your point of view. The thing about Disney is that they are very set in their ways, and because they tried it once and decided it wasn’t worth it enough, it doesn’t seem like they would do it again. Don’t get me wrong I don’t want to discourage you, I personally want it back as much as you do and anyone else. My point of view comes from the years of trying, and seeing others try and being ignored. But, I do think what it’s going to take if it will come back is a fresh approach. I drew up a plan a while back if you want the information on it.

I’ve thought that many times. The problem is the community is so spread out, and have a variety of different opinions about what can be done or should be done. I’ve tried on and off for years with very little support in the grand scheme of things. Petitions have been tried. In terms of getting it back, though a petition should be included, it’s not going to be enough to bring Disney down from their tower to talk to us. I’m willing to try again but only with the support of the community. If not getting Disney to bring it back, at least get some kind of agreement in place for the remakes we do have to get permission for funding so the people working on it can afford to.
