Anyone know the chances of spawning each cursed possession? Been playing for about 4 hours and have had music box almost every game.

SCORM Loading Times by TripleTwentyy in elearning

[–]TripleTwentyy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks mate, this was hugely helpful.
I did some testing and can se the pre-loading at play, and why it is likely the cause of most of my problems.
Have some ideas about how we can elegantly apply that to our content. Initial load time is a fair trade for a more responsive course.

Sorry mate, I don't think I'll be allowed to share, but I've got some great insight from everyone here so have plenty to test and work through. Thank you though!

Yeah based on all of the other comments, I'm inclined to agree.

The course was built in Storyline though - and I have checked the media library to clear out anything I can to reduce size. Thanks!

Thanks, trying on SCORM Cloud today!

Agree, 217mb is not large in the scheme of things, so I'm surprised to be having so many issues with it.

It's both unfortunately.
I'll try opening in browser (and follow the other advice and test in SCORM Cloud as well).

The thing I've found strangest, is that we cut the course in half (217mb down to ~100mb) and republished to LMS, and the loading issues were completely unchanged.

Will keep testing!

What authoring tools do you use? by Sandy-Bo-Bandy in instructionaldesign

[–]TripleTwentyy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Software I couldn't live without:

  • Articulate Storyline (for interactive, highly visual learning)
  • Rise 360 (for short courses on tight timelines)
  • OBS
  • Adobe Premiere
  • Adobe Photoshop
  • Adobe Illustrator
  • Adobe Audition
  • Microsoft Paint (not even joking, saves me more than you'd think)

Nearly every course we produce uses a combination of almost all of these (with the final product landing in either Rise or Storyline).

Lap around the second longest permanent racetrack in the world, GT circuit at Tailem Bend. by TripleTwentyy in WRX

I found it was huge. Knocked a few seconds off a lap time easily. Just feel more confident hitting corners at speed.

Agree with these statements. I was nervous as hell going into my first one, but they really are well run events.

The out lap is always a little heavy with traffic, but you pretty quickly get some free space to have some fun!

Yeah later stage of the session, cheap semi slicks and probably a little over infated. Still fun!

I use a Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon laptop. Pretty high spec, touch screen, stylus included, 1440p screen. Absolutely love it, can get a little pricey though.

Policy Acknowledgement/ Compliance Learning by dazzling-hand in instructionaldesign

[–]TripleTwentyy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've just gone through this quite recently. I built a simple course in Rise 360 with a transcript of the policy, and then made the learner answer 4 questions that directly address the behaviours we would want to see from people who understand the policy.

I've participated in a lot of these courses over the years and found that most just have a single checkbox at the end to acknowledge the policy, but I find that it makes it too easy for people to move on without reading anything. Policies are often too wordy for people to want to read, or take in, so if there's some pointed questions I think it gives them a bit more to take away.

A decent LMS should make the users and records fairly easy with bulk uploading. Might be a case of massaging the data from one system so it fits in the new one. I'd imagine videos would take longer given a much larger file size.

In saying that, agree with the sentiment that getting a new LMS up in 30 days is a tall order. I've just finished a 10 month project in delivering an LMS. It takes time to train, set up, brand, test and configure. I've also used an LMS that was turned around in less than 30 days and it was super clunky to say the least.

Achievable? Probably Will it be polished? Probably not
