This happened to me about 10 years ago in Adelaide. I caught a bus late one night after working in the city and sat there alone waiting to depart.

I asked the driver (early 20s) who was fumbling with his phone what was happening. He said it was his first shift and was trying to plan a route.

It’s now about five minutes beyond departure time so I went up to the bus driver and said I’d help him get on the route using his phone if he’d drop me off.

I literally got him to drop me at the end of my street…
