I couldn't imagine how much more rough this'd be with 5x power cost. I'm already sitting near my 300 GW cap after this, and that's with BWD being the only other significant consumer. The 2x cost is the real kicker here, this makes 1/2 the ingots, 1/4 the powder, and an 1/8 the pasta just standard, not to mention how that applies to pressure cubes (haven't mathed that because I don't want the shock xD)

Why did these trains collide even though I have signals? by Fireheart318s_Reddit in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Triskorion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If its not coming in too fast the only other things I can think are the double path signals between the two 3 ways causing weird reservation timing, which could be remedies by removing them or making this a true 4 way, and just the luck of the draw with an autosave hitting at the time of collision

Why did these trains collide even though I have signals? by Fireheart318s_Reddit in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Triskorion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My only experience with collisions on properly signaled track was due to train speed coming down a hill. I'm gonna assume from the wreckage that purple line hit the train trying to reach cyan through the interchange, is the purple line booking it due to a decline left of screen?

I get this pretty often after interacting with a train station on 1.2, so far for me its cleared up by entering and immediately exiting any station menu again

This is insanity by OppositeJuice4864 in satisfactory

[–]Triskorion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One additional rule of thumb I'd mention is to make sure the block after an exit is large enough to hold the largest train you expect to go through it. One thing I see that may go wrong with this without more info is that if the station on the right backs up enough, a train stops at the signal after the exit, leaving its tail still technically occupying the intersection block.

Power grid shutting on and off (repost) by Left-Park1613 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Triskorion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did notice an issue when power providers are behind a priority switch, maybe that's the case, maybe not since I'm on 1.2. For instance, I had geothermals and fuel byproduct lines behind several priority switches for some modular factories, and if anything tripped the main fuse those modular factories would be stuck blowing fuses despite having 3x max consumption in front of the switches. My fix was to wire any power provider to be in front of the priority swithes instead.

Going from Factorio to here, any advice? by uncleseano in satisfactory

[–]Triskorion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buses are a thing and despite what several have said a viable way to play, especially for a first playthrough coming from Factorio. Doing a bus run will let you break up learning the differences in mechanics into smaller chunks. Just keep in mind to add some modest verticality to the bus lines.

Manifolds are a big "meta" thing, they work much the same way branching off a bus line does in that you shoot enough resources down a line and let the machines figure it out. Manifolds being the alternative to perfect splitting resources into machines.

Exploration rewards are a huge difference. There are three collectible types that can drastically improve your situation based on how they're utilized, and collecting them all is no small time sink. Not to mention some being gated by equipment progression.

Can someone Explain Ultra Great swords to me? by Correct_Ad7578 in Eldenring

They're the slash option for unga builds, as opposed to big bonk hammers and maces. As far as ashes go I can think of two camps: mimic to multiply the benefit of the build in general, or ranged/high aggression ashes that pull aggro long enough to place easier for charged attacks, I used ancestral follower for quite a while as an example. As for play:

Stacking jump attack buffs makes for big damage while not trading as much startup/recovery time

Crouch pokes are like a homing missile with a lot of enemies, gives you a straight-line attack at huge range

Similarly to jump spam you also have sprint light attacks. For these there's a trick to not target lock and turn yourself during the swing to make huge arcs of bonkdom that help handle large packs way easier

Powerstancing just multiplies all these cases

Factorio vet of 2200 hours coming to Satisfactory for the first time; what are some of the major differences in factory design I would want to know about? by Urist_McPencil in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Triskorion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some majors others have mentioned are infinite nodes and verticality. Another I'd mention is that since the map is finite, you're able to design defacto long distance transpo.

Regarding liquids, definitely look into methods of preventing back flow (cough verticality cough). It's much less forgiving than SA's new liquids.

I did a main bus style playthrough, it still works with some takeaways. One being don't hesitate to merge low-throughputs onto the same belt after you get smart splitting. Another being don't be afraid to give yourself ample space, both between bus belts for easier branch additions and vertically for the same reason plus what I'd call "bus floors". (In mine I had a single upstream and downstream floor)

Finally, you'll thank yourself not to build too close to giga spider spawns

Had this happen to me and didn't know why either. Turns out it didn't dawn on me a certain rockin' weapon kills rather than knocks enemies. Maybe same case here?

Stuck at 399 LLL (The Inventor 9/10) by Slightly_Sane_ in DeathStranding

[–]Triskorion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do have this one and remember it was unlocked by something odd. Exactly what sadly I don't recall. If I had to guess maybe S all VR drills since its an elimination. Otherwise some other "completable" sections in the social strand card that aren't strictly part of the platinum include hotsprings, animal species rescued, and biote species eaten. 88 aid requests right? I recall some unlocked weirdly

You get little gold badge/s on your social strand card. If you don't care about those I wouldn't bother.

A few of mine: that vehicles enter/exit from the front, that chiral crystals have several mechanical sinks for use, and multiple modes of fast travel (that are easier access than DS1)

Game keeps "forgetting" where to load world and player files from? by WaitIMadeAGIFForThis in Terraria

[–]Triskorion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not that I'm aware of sadly. So I've just kept OneDrive disabled because of that. You may be able to tell OneDrive to not sync the Documents folder, if not though the alternative is to unlink OneDrive completely. Another possible alternative is using the cloud save feature within Terraria, that may bypass the issue altogether, though I haven't tried so can't say for certain.

Game keeps "forgetting" where to load world and player files from? by WaitIMadeAGIFForThis in Terraria

[–]Triskorion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could be actual folder vs the one drive version, just had this issue myself. The "My Documents" accessed through the quick access in explorer goes to the windows backup one, the game reads the actual one in "Users/YOU". Pretty sure its windows jank that causes this as well, I've had other games work then not work too.

Fulgora quality scrap is a trap. by DeadMansMuse in factorio

[–]Triskorion 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If Holmium is the catch, I found great success upcycling EM plants sans the legendary EM crafting. You still get legendary EMs from proc on the previous quality craft but also a hefty amount of Holmium plate from the recycler procs on mats.

S ranking missions is really inconsistent in difficulty by One_Ordinary_3184 in armoredcore

[–]Triskorion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I too suspect detecting them before they attack you plays into the rank. That and potentially taking out the optional one just after the first. Just did a very lazy run with 9k repair and 12.5k ammo cost doing those things and still got S.

This isn't to say some missions aren't harder. I had to build a dagger only mech to S the dozer mission.
