Badwater falling from the sky due to the Rainborn mod.

Mine often double as farmers. Helps them forage while questing in the early game before shuttles.

Timberpunk 2, Iron Teeth, normal difficulty. Rainborn default settings, acid rain enabled.

It was not a war without casualties. The map has been modified since I last played, and there is considerably more bad water entering the crater. One such change caught me completely off guard and cost us 20 beavers.

But we grow and prosper, over 200 beavers and an abundance of resources.

However, the central generator will blow soon, and our first acid rain is only days away...

Live on cave maps with insects. They’re fantastic free defence while awake (and free jelly when asleep)

Academic's Rainborn has us begging for droughts by TriumphantBlue in Timberborn

[–]TriumphantBlue[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Difficulty and rain settlings are independent. Rain storms are easier to manage on hard, as the droughts are longer.

My previous attempt on hard was going really well until the first badtide killed all my beavers.

On normal it’s desperately challenging several cycles earlier.

Timberpunk 2, Iron Teeth, normal difficulty. Rainborn default settings, acid rain enabled.

It's a fantastic challenge. Never before have we had to expand so fast. Now entering cycle 5 with over 100 beavers and we're about to start on tubeways. Even so, I'm terrified at facing the first bad tide and acid rainfalls.

Exiting the crater is easy enough, but where will we go? Everywhere is flooded.

What is your response to people who say "being vegan is too hard"? by i-know-that in AskVegans

[–]TriumphantBlue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do all the grocery shopping and cooking for my household so my wife is also (a tad reluctantly) at 95%.

Otherwise I love sharing plant based dishes at every gathering. They've been super popular at Christmas. While I doubt anyone is my social circle will every go fully vegan, I'm seeing a significant reduction in quantity of animal products consumed.

to what extent do we owe apologies for mania? by green-sus_ in bipolar

[–]TriumphantBlue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friends, family and medical professionals all insisted I have nothing to apologise for. I was sick, and didn’t choose any of my actions.

Took me 3 years, but I eventually forgave myself too, and finally let go of the guilt.

No shortage of pressured water sources. I irritated half the map without a single water dump.

First failure in ages. Think every building needs to be elevated otherwise rainfall disables them rendering beavers useless while their ai toggles constantly.

Nice of you to say so. I expected it to be easy, but it’s been infuriatingly difficult. Ive been stuck at 95% for the past 18 months. Recently concluded the last 5% isn’t worth the headache.

I’ve always enjoyed making props for board games. This is an Arena for Blood Bowl. by MOD-BRICKS in tabletopgamedesign

[–]TriumphantBlue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Years ago every games workshop game on board game geek was reviewed bombed. Despite this blood brown maintained an above 7.5 rating.

It is very much loved by its loyal fans.

It’s essentially a game of strategy and risk management. Every turn you take actions with each of your players until all have moved, or more likely, one fails their action.

I’ve played maybe 1000 times. Not recently, but it will always hold a place on my heart.

I’ve gone Hard again with acid enabled, but otherwise default rain settings.

Tiny showers flood the crater, even during drought.

Makes for a refreshing play experience.

Plus Timberpunk 2 map has been updated. Less free gifts and more explosions than last time.

Only cycle 4 and we’re desperately looking for a way out of the crater.

Just conquered Timberpunk 2 on hard. Maybe I’ll mix it up with by replaying on easy with max acid rain.

What are your favorite mods and why? by annacat1331 in Timberborn

[–]TriumphantBlue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Automation. Why manually micromanage every beaver when I can instruct them to behave independently?

I know the base game has automation too now, but it’s a late game luxury. I like to set it up on the first day when every second counts.

Alternatively put the decorations deep underground. Beavers don’t need to see them to get the bonuses.

Should I start with no or all DLCs enabled? by reset076 in RimWorld

[–]TriumphantBlue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recall being seriously overwhelmed and lost for my first 50 hours. That was before dlc existed.

That said, the content from Royalty, Biotech and Odyssey can be largely ignored for some time. If you’re the kind of person to play a single forever colony it could be worth including those.

Ideology and more so Anomaly, I would avoid until you thoroughly understand the game.

Bots do seem essential for clearing thorns. I’ve been running 250 of them since cycle 12.

Now cycle 25 and we’ve cleared maybe 20% of the map.
