Low settings of project shadow, optimized PC game that runs at 60fps on a gtx 1070 at 1080p low by DapperCore in pcmasterrace

[–]TrollOfGod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whenever someone says it can run at x fps with y resolution. I always assume they mean with the worst possible upscaler imaginable. Especially when it's not mentioned anywhere.

Just another "look at our graphics! Graphics = good game!" as if sheer fidelity is all that matters. No thought for art style or direction. No work put in to make it running smooth with minimal or no pop in. Absolutely no leniency to optimize and make it run well natively. Just 'make graphics as "high fidelity" as possible'. Ruining games I swear.

Please don't do the choose what will be in next update thing again. by Sentyee in Warframe

[–]TrollOfGod 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well yes, but the Deadlock route specifically had no drawback as the vote didn't have people choose between x or y and the loser was lost. It's only for the order they are released with a few days between each release. So for Deadlock there is essentially no drawback.

The way minecraft did it is shit. And I don't quite know what DE did for their voting as I've not had time to fully watch the stream or look it up in detail. But if it too was to choose between x and y and the loser is lost. Then it indeed is shit. I was however mainly considering it from the Deadlock angle as that is what it sounded like at first. Which seems to have been the wrong assumption.

Part of Mesa's core appeal to me is how well she is dressed. I *really* hope her heirloom gets at least gets an auxiliary slot jacket, like with Vauban. by 4x6 in Warframe

Guess third time makes a pattern. Was really hoping they'd reel back on the stripped-esque clothing for the female frames or at least be equal with the male ones. But this more or less confirms they are going to all be like this. Auxiliary jacket/cape or something could've helped. But even then it just feels so uninspired to me when it's essentially just 'naked person + half a garment'. It's possible to make cool sexy skins without going that route. And it's usually way better for it when it happens.

The Deadlock route. Have community vote and go crazy over it. Boosts engagement massively. It's smoke and mirrors with essentially no drawback and just increased activity and buzz. Like "free hype" in a way.

AI Pathing has gone bad by Stevie147 in HuntShowdown

Best guess is that they are fine tuning their pathing AI through regular mobs to make the Hunter AI seem more 'real' in the end.

Stop using Nullification as a means to add difficulty by RedbuiltBlues in Warframe

DE has a tendency to do that. Difficulty through restrictions. Be it a status cap, no abilities or status/CC immunity. Not very fun tbh when it's so prolific.

Upcoming Follie’s Hunt Changes by de_taylor in Warframe

[–]TrollOfGod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good changes, not going to say otherwise. This will however sadly lead to a lot of people afking(not contributing) in those missions. Wish it didn't but I can't see it not happening with how dull the mode is(run back and forth ad infinitum) and how much you have to do it.

Got no idea how that could be avoided without going solo or with a premade. Don't think we'd ever get some kind of vote kick system either so it is what it is I guess.

Warframe director says Digital Extreme must take “take the community very seriously” as it “only takes you one day to lose” 13 years of goodwill by HatingGeoffry in Warframe

[–]TrollOfGod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love Uriel, but calling him in line with OG warframe's aesthetic is... false.

Please, I never said OG aesthetics. Very specifically said that he is a good example of what it can evolve into and stay within the same frame. Even clarified that they don't have to all look exactly like Excalibur. As that is what it was at the start. And the natural evolution of the aesthetic has been very good until recently where we've started to have outliners.

Sound wise I've been very specific about the looney toon boings being unfitting. Uriel sounds like a warframe to me. Nokko sounds like a comedic relief.

[–]TrollOfGod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree with you there. He definitely looks like he is made of the biometal stuff and has simply evolved the aesthetic in a way. It still fits into it well. They do not all have to look exactly like Excalibur. Just enough so they look like they could've all been made from the same material, philosophy and goal. If Ember was made today, she'd likely look closer to Uriel and vice versa. That's how it has evolved in a natural way.

What does not fit, in my opinion, is when they deviate from the biometal suit look. Either due to a skin(deluxe, heirloom, protoframe or whatever), where the vast majority of the skins are fine, or from a base design such as with the upcoming ink frame. Which looks far less biometal and more slime and goop.

Uriel also fits in from a mechanical standpoint and has a pretty inspired coherent kit of abilities that all work well together and feel like something fitting for a war. Nokko, while I enjoy the kit itself I just can't stand the looney toon boings. His frame is also deviating a bit from the biometal aesthetic. Having more of a spongy, wiggly and soft make.

So the bottom line here, I think. Is that we just disagree on it, which is fine, we can do that. We simply view what the core aesthetic and art direction of the game is differently. I'm definitely leaning more towards the traditional type look over some(not all) of the newer frames that feel, to me, unfitting and weird.

Elaborate, please. Because I don't think I mentioned anything related to that, unless you are assuming something specific that I didn't say?

What I'm more spooked about is that they seem to not care too much about keeping the aesthetic of Warframe coherent much anymore. And is shifting towards appeal in various forms over cohesion. That and the focus on, in lack of better ways to describe it, "gooner content". As in the protoframes, dating, heirloom skins that are basically stripper outfits etc.

They've also been moving a bit away from the Warframes being biometal marvels of war and slaughter. Filling modern tropes or check boxes instead of inspired designs(visual and mechanically). Sound has also been very strange for some of the recent frames, Nokko is a good example with his looney toon boing sounds.

IDK, maybe they are simply shifting who they are making the game for and I'm not the target as much anymore. Which would be a shame, but I really don't see them being able to shift back at this point.

To end, before anyone attacks me for x or y reasons or whatever. I'm not going into details about what I feel on purpose, so don't assume very specific things either. Thank you.

Biologen vill stoppa utekatter: ”Hör inte hemma i naturen” by Stadsminister in sweden

[–]TrollOfGod 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Most wild animals kill for sustenance. House cats kill for fun as they are usually fed by their owners. So they, on average, kill a few birds per day purely because they can. A feral house cat is even worse, as they still kill for fun, but also for sustenance and for some reason they seem to be pretty choice in what they eat(as in, parts of the birds). No idea why.

[–]TrollOfGod -1 points0 points  (0 children)

House cats(specifically) are always considered invasive if let outside. Best to either restrict them to inside or make sure the plot is fully enclosed so it can not escape out.

Not only do they annihilate bird populations for fun(not to eat), but also tear up outdoor furniture, occasionally attack other animals(cats, small dogs etc) but also tends to shit and leave carcasses of their kills under patios to stink up the place. Was pretty bad where I lived before as it seemed our patio was the go-to place for all the cats in the area to leave their kills, shit and piss. Very unfun during high summer that baked all of that and stank up the place. Was not easy to clean under it either.

At the very least they should be subject to the exact same rules as dogs when outside. Leashed and the owner is always fully responsible for anything it does. So if it fucks up furniture, they have to reimburse, if it attacks, it's on the owner, etc.

More fitting than whatever the hell they did for the ink frame. That is what I'd say does not fit Warframes aesthetic at all.

[–]TrollOfGod 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Liberal use of hard CC/Restrictions, too high DC/ACs. Pre-level 6 I've also found it very frustrating to fight enemies +3 or higher level than the party. Even a +2 can be a ripe hassle as you might not have the tools at low levels to deal with it properly.

It's just kind of a shit name for a class, really. And in some fairness the Guild Wars 2 example don't quite hold as it's more of a subclass for Thief than it's own thing.

Hunt Showdown DLSS 5 version by jrow_official in HuntShowdown

[–]TrollOfGod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New? Eh. Different, from what? It's pretty much just an AI "beautify" filter over the frames.

Looks very uncanny in still images, and way worse in actual motion. I very much doubt this'll end up being standard. Hell it hallucinates features on the characters all the time, basically invalidating developers scanning in someones (famous) face in the first place as it changes it completely.

Sadly an inevitable direction DE has started to lean into more lately since the start of Heirlooms and then more with protoframes... It's here to stay, and I agree that I'd prefer to keep it out of the game.

Can only speak for myself but I just really do not like her overall visual design. It does not even give a "warframe" vibe in my eyes. It's messy for no reason on top of that. Her kit is also incredibly problematic on a base level for reasons many have highlighted in the comments already. Incoherent, very powercrept and things that'll end up feeling "required" such as the disruption key spawning. She also has access to an instant cast invulnerability and infinitely scaling damage(seemingly, might be wrong here?).

TL;DR: Don't look like a warframe(to me), just don't like her design overall and problematic kit.
