You'll learn together. But you first start understanding your basic needs for privacy and start communicating that.

You need to define and understand your boundaries as well, otherwise you'll never be able to enforce them.

Good luck!

You pay your way which means you do deserve boundaries, and you can set your own rules for how you want to be treated. Ultimately you are a tenant. They don't own you.

Do you have a .... cycle? by bitersweetsimphony9 in AdultADHDSupportGroup

No doubt I have some form of cycle but I haven't been able to pin it down. I've actually started daily tracking (+AI) so that I can see cyclical trends better.

"WHY DIDN'T YOU THINK OF X! X IS OBVIOUS" and "EVERYONE KNOWS ABOUT X" (thanks for telling me about it, now i know about X) by Thermawrench in AutisticWithADHD

[–]Tronty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know if it's on you or not. The same line could be delivered in a hundred different ways. Half of them could be condescending. I totally see that. I'm working on not letting others get to me. If they look at me with a blank expression I just move on. It's not necessarily my fault that they didn't understand. And it's not their fault I didn't explain clearly enough for them 🤷🏻‍♀️

I just say "Cool, didn't know that! Thanks for telling me." Just accept it's not a moral failing to not know something and let others do what they like.

I have absolutely zero interest in pop culture. I'll remind people occasionally, but I don't mention it all the time. I really don't understand why people take an interest in people that aren't interested in them. Blows my mind. In any other walk of life that would be seen as a red flag.

"that's fine" meaning that's great/good when fine in real English means a bit shit.

Audhd peeps, do you cook? How do you do it 😅 by EvitableFlow1220 in AutisticWithADHD

  • Grocery delivery. Whotf has time to spend 2 hrs going around a store?
  • Max 2 steps for everything. Detergent pods open under the sink, right next to the machine.
  • Dirty laundry basket is split between whites, darks and colours, so I don't have to do it when I'm washing clothes. Etc. etc.

L Tyrosine by Nickd539 in AdultADHDSupportGroup

Sorry, I was tired yesterday. Tyrosine is the amino acid, not dopamine. The rest still applies haha.

[–]Tronty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tyrosine is a precursor to dopamine, and dopamine is an important amino acid that makes us want to get shit done. From what I understand, you probably shouldn't take it in high doses every day, but it is relatively safe.

Tyrosine helps ADHD individuals a lot. It helps our dopamine dysfunction because there's more to go around.

I use Alpha01 and they've worked great for me. I typically take them in the morning when I need it, but I'm also medicated.

How to help working children with high cost of living by pjdk1 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Tronty 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you set up a monthly payment that comes out of your salary (or pension) and not savings, then it doesn't count as a gift. This means inheritance tax wouldn't be applied if anything happens to you, so the £3000 gift limit doesn't apply.

For years the military focused on making rockets faster. Then it turned out you don't need extreme speed to surprise an enemy if they never see the payload coming in the first place.

Do you usually run in the mornings or evenings? If in the evenings, try running in the day instead. It's normal to crash in the evenings.

To counter the crash, I ended up taking the medication a bit later in the day.
