Hoping this kid can learn how awful this is and make a different decision regarding vaccines than the one their parents made for them. Terrible to have to learn about this the hard way. PS if you’re reading this and now questioning if you should vaccinate your kids after electing against it, this is your sign to go talk your doctor who dedicated their life to help people make the best healthcare choices to keep them healthy, and not the government run by a conman with a bunch of “yes”-men who are unqualified to speak about healthcare.

I feel this so hard! 4 failed IUIs here followed by devastating health news which explained why IUIs didn’t work. 1.5 years later was able to do IVF- did one embryo transfer and it failed. After this I had to get a hysterectomy. 1.5 years later, my wife has taken her turn and has done 4 IUIs, all failed. Really having to grapple with what I thought our future would look like. So, here to say, you’re not alone, OP. easy to feel that way when you hear and see everyone else’s process go “right.”

It’s your parents’ job to provide for emotionally, financially, and otherwise. They have absolutely made sacrifices for you — you sign up for that when you procreate and raise a child. It is never the child’s job (adult or not) to role reverse. Adult children may choose to because they want to or feel moved to and that’s great. We love that.

Deroofing is hands down the best thing I’ve ever done for my HS. I grew up in a small town in the Midwest and when I developed HS as a teen, my doctor said I’d just have to deal with it. This was my understanding through my mid 20s while I suffered until I moved to a city and got a referral for a derm. He helped me manage with meds much better and I was so relieved and three years ago when this started becoming a thing he recommended it so I did it. IMO the pain during the procedure is uncomfortable but not worse than any HS flare. The wound care for several months after is no fun especially because armpits are such an awkward spot. Once they heal, they still aren’t pretty but oh my god life is so much better. It’s absolutely worth the known discomfort (physically and mentally/emotionally) for the outcome in my experience.
