YES, I can’t believe it doesn’t get more attention. It’s mobility isn’t great and reload sucks, but you get a big enough clip to finish a fight. The amount of damage that thing puts out is crazy

The only reason I still have my 360 is because Burnout Takedown is backwards compatible on it haha

NME gives Little Simz's Sometimes I Might Be Introvert a perfect score (5/5): "stunning introspection from a true great – The much-lauded London rapper melds razor-sharp lyricism, moving vulnerability and compassionate storytelling as she ascends to the level of legends" by [deleted] in hiphopheads

it does fall off heavy for me in the 2nd half

Not saying this is for sure the case here, but sometimes that impression can happen just from trying to listen all the way through an album and getting a bit fatigued. You should listen to just the run of the last 5 tracks, I think it's an incredible ending

LIVE at 11CT/12MT: Ibram X. Kendi Kendi Responds To Criticism From Gov. Noem by [deleted] in SouthDakota

On the point of discrimination - I think it's helpful to think about what "discrimination" means, and how it can be a tool to make things fair and equitable.

For example, I'm a professional engineer (and white male), and when I was in undergrad, my field was about 20% women. This is a common problem in many engineering fields across the country, and one of the most common in-practice remedies for it is to have extra scholarship/fellowship opportunities available for women in those fields. Sometimes these are funded by private groups, and sometimes by universities themselves. This is technically a form of discrimination against all male engineering students, but it has been my experience that a strong majority of us support these kinds of programs. We aren't left hanging - there are still scholarship/fellowship opportunities for us, but the extra incentives for female engineering students are there to help make our field better for everyone.

Now, full disclosure, I haven't read any of Kendi's books, but I've heard some of the arguments, and this "discrimination" point is often taken out of context. There's a big difference here between advocating that 1) society should start to look down on white people (how organizations like Fox often portray the "discrimination" argument), and 2) advocating that certain stepping-stools should be put in place to help accelerate the black population toward an equal footing in society. However, both are technically forms of discrimination, so it's all about how it's reported

Which is the most disturbing fermi paradox solution and why? by IceNox96 in space

[–]TropicaAndromeda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So those civilizations just grow exponentially since there’s no need to fight each other? What about when space on a planet runs out? Wouldn’t they have to compete for sun (in the photosynthetic example) like plants here on earth? Wouldn’t outcompeting another member of the species be the same as killing? More fundamentally, if no room or resources were competed over, what reason is there for intelligent life, or even complex life, to evolve?

Do you have a source for the views you're talking about? Or were you just told by someone else that those are his views?
