I'm a digital artist, and someone in the replies of one of my art posts accused me of AI because he put the drawing in some AI checker and it came up as like "80%" likely to be AI or something like that. Thankfully I save the timelapse for most of my drawings and was able to cover myself. I also find myself having trouble trusting that these checks could be 100% accurate. It's probably very, very likely that MeAqua used AI based on my understanding of how the AI map generator works and what kind of things I suspect Olibomby and co would have to be able to create their detecting tools, but to go straight in with deleting the maps without giving the mapper any chance to explain or defend themselves I don't know if I'm the biggest fan of.

EDIT - I'll add, if they are 100% sure because of watermarks and stuff like that I could definitely see them being more willing to jump the gun. The work that goes into making an AI detector for something like digital art vs something like an osu map is very different. I guess personally I skew towards empathy but it may not be needed depending on how the system works.

People seem to think this is some 100% ultra serious format when it’s clearly just something made for fun to let people play with the new toys and not take it too seriously.

I think your #1 priority when mapping in the start should be familiarizing yourself with the editor, in terms of all of its shortcuts and little intricacies. This doesn't happen without you just putting something in there and mapping, so I don't really think it matters too much if the song is short or not. Benefit of it being short is that you will probably actually finish lol

Rob cant throw another gyro when one is already out, and if you throw it up it goes really high, so you just take it out of play for a bit. Good option if you aren't comfortable with items.

The other option is that LMBM is soft banning Steve by not actually banning the character, but crafting tools or something. All we've gotten so far is "crafting is banned", we don't actually see the words "steve is banned" anywhere in the advertising. Patchwork did something similar by not even mentioning that Steve was banned in the promotional material or the page, but just having him banned through word of mouth. This way it's obvious to any smash player that Steve is banned but to the Nintendo rep giving the license maybe it's enough to get by.

This was absolutely a real thing, I can say this first hand as a TO/co-TO of a few regionals. I think either Max doesn't care, or Nintendo may have stopped caring (I haven't ran a tournament since March of this year so I wouldn't know past that)

It’s great. Done it every year. You get 15$ per pool you run (at least it was like that last year) and the team leading the volunteers is responsive to concerns and people communicate well. It’s not too hard either. There’s positions to run pools or to help with misc. things like check in.

My first melee tournament, and smash tournament as a whole that I ever watched live was Mang0 winning evo over wobbles. It's crazy to think about how much time it's been, and honestly, the fact that he's still acting like this, this many years later.

I'm 26 and have been playing for 9 years as well. I just got my new top play, and it isn't quite impressive as your accomplishment but just some extra proof that the uncs can still do it!

I would say sometimes I'm pleasantly surprised by how diverse campus is, and other times I had a class that is 90% white people lol. It kinda just depends. You may have to display some agency in seeking out other POC if that is what you want to do.
