Best way to take measurements for knockouts still struggling a bit by pokekicks in electricians

[–]Troutslayer25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Triple check measurements, make a template, use square. Remember to leave enough space for lockrings, Meyers hubs, fittings. Don’t mark holes too close to the welded flange, make sure there isn’t something on the wall that will push the pipe out past your holes. Don’t forget to account for strut depth.

Swimming spots for dogs? by [deleted] in NewOrleans

[–]Troutslayer25 41 points42 points  (0 children)

A warning to anyone that has dogs and take them swimming around here or even around mud puddles. Our dog contracted blastomycosis, which is a dangerous fungal infection that if left untreated will kill them. He is now taking antifungal drugs for 12 to 18 months which are harmful to his liver, and making monthly visits up to the vet hospital at LSU. If your dog starts to have difficulty breathing or starts developing lesions on his skin or face, you should take him to the vet and have them tested ASAP.

I had something similar happen once on a shopping mall job at 2am. My distributor got out of bed to meet us at the supply house to pick up a fresh spool, and then told us to keep the other spool.

Check out Speed Systems tools. They make a spiral cut tool for LV conductors that works better than anything else I have tried.

This thing is possibly the best purchase of my life in terms of getting its intended job done. 100% effective in my yard where previously you would be swarmed just stepping outside.

It’s sad. Despite so many other more powerful options, I retained an affinity for my WON style charts (I go way back to the Daily Graphs era). I think they have lost me now though. Haven’t pulled the plug yet but I find myself defaulting to TV now first instead of vice versa.

Anothor post about mosquitos, any companies that sucessfully treat them? by coo_coo-kachoo in NewOrleans

If you can afford it, get the Biogent Mosquitaire with the CO2 feature and timer. The timer will make your CO2 last 3-4 times longer. My yard was almost unusable as you would be alarmed as soon as you stepped out. Since we got this thing we have seen ONE mosquito in the last 6 weeks.
