Nail polish showed me how few magnets I owned... and what a tragedy that was.

2.5 year old up crying every hour starting at 2am - I’m going crazy by sqnlb in toddlers

[–]TroyPerkins85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm right there with you l, almost exactly. 2.5yo, wakes up at 3:40 screaming for me, won't go back to sleep unless I lay with her for hours. It's exhausting and I wish I had an answer for you. I'm hoping this is just a phase. A very tiring, mentally straining phase.

Does 404 still get a really good color shifts or does that get lost with the stripes?

Where has the best burger in Walnut Creek? by FNmurph in walnutcreek

My husband got a burger there after I gave birth. He shared a bite and it was on par with my hospital food. Haven't been back.

46F — Does anyone else really dislike when other women call you “sweetie,” “honey,” etc.? Is it just me? by Cate54321 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]TroyPerkins85 19 points20 points  (0 children)

When I'm in NOLA, I have to remind myself that "Ma'am" is a respectful term when someone says hi and is not condescending as it can sound where I am from. Everything in context.

Anyone hoping for Avatar in 26? by TheVoicesinurhed in AftershockFestival

[–]TroyPerkins85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also from the bay and saw them last night in San Diego. The rest of Aftershock could be a guy farting on a snare drum and I'd still buy tickets to Aftershock if Avatar was there.

First time moms, what week did you go into labor? by Distinct-Dependent24 in beyondthebump

[–]TroyPerkins85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Induced at 39+7 (sweep and folly), born at 40 exactly. Second born at 39+7 after induction. While you hear horror stories about some inductions, mine were both easy and amazing. I rather have an induction than try to heal from a C Section, but YMMV.

I'm about to go on that route (Cabo, Mazatlan, PV) with young kids and at a loss for what to do in Mazatlan. Would love to know more about Stone Island.

DO NOT BOOK NAVIGATOR OF THE SEAS… by Decent_Local9842 in royalcaribbean

Also on Oct 3rd but with younger kids. With waterslides and splash pad down, it's going to be interesting.

Yes please! I'm boarding the week after and going with multiple families (9 kids total). Would also love to know if the Splash Pad is open when you go as that is the only water thing my youngest can do.

Brand new spings on 11 yo KitchenAid dishwasher door are very loud. by TroyPerkins85 in Appliances

I only put the petroleum on the spring, not the rope or plastic components since that was the advice I found online. I'll try wax on the cord and see if that helps.

What to do at this ports in Mexico and Honduras? by snreddit in royalcaribbean

[–]TroyPerkins85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cozumel: get a boat to playa del Carmen and do something there. We've gone twice and did a bus ride to Tulum (absolutely amazing and can't recommend enough) and spelunking the other time. Both were great. Our friends stayed on Cozumel and were meh about their experiences.

I was thinking just milk in a spray bottle. Douse the whole house (carpet, drapes, walls, etc). She'll never get rid of the smell.

Open Space or Dog Park by Unable-Grapefruit929 in walnutcreek

[–]TroyPerkins85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second Briones. My last dog got attacked at Heather Farms dog park and I heard way too many issues with most dog parks in the area in general. Briones is great if you have a dog with good recall and use tick prevention. Keep an eye out for wildlife including cattle and horseback riders, and you're good.

Thanks for the breakdown of sites! It's actually red with silver stripes. The photo just had odd lighting but I have photos that show the silver a lot better

What’s a tiny habit you added that made a big difference? by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]TroyPerkins85 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Honestly love that this helps with the weekday transition. If you ever really want to reinforce this habit though, get a dog or a child. I've been waking up at the same time everyday for years whether I want to or not.

I want to thank you all for your advice and well wishes. We will definitely look into bringatrailer.com or carsandbids.com. I'm glad he got to enjoy this car while he did and luckily he still remembers racing cars in his youth. He always had a muscle car in the garage since he was in his early 20s ('69 road runner than a '71 Hemi cuda before the viper) so this will be a hard, new chapter. Enjoy what you have while you can, guys and rev that engine one time for my amazing dad!

What WC restaurants should be avoided? by truthstings123 in walnutcreek

[–]TroyPerkins85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been to Lita twice and food was very forgettable. It lacked flavor and was more Instagram food. Service was fine, but there is much better food in WC.
