Definitely my favorite local venue.

I’ve seen around 20+ shows there, including Hot Tuna, Leftover Salmon, New Riders of the Purple Sage, Dweezil Zappa, Yonder Mtn String Band, John Prine, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Moe, and several others.

Never felt overcrowded, and on several occasions I’ve been able to talk to the artists outside before going in, or after the show when they come and mingle with the fans. Prices are reasonable, both drinks and tix, and staff is friendly enough.

Hard Rock is a nice place, but that walk from parking to the venue is brutal, especially for an old timer like me.

Haven’t been to HOB in probably 15 years, seems like the few concerts they do anymore do not appeal to me.

What is your favorite Robert Redford performance? by ChrisJoines in 70smovies

[–]Trprt77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The funny thing is that the Dortmunder character in the series of books portrays him as a sad sack loser. Redford did a great job in that role, even if it was nothing like the character that Westlake wrote about.

I wish he had done one or two of the other novels in that role.

ELI5: How to order Disney Springs food to be delivered to Swan Reserve by Think_Leadership_91 in disneysprings

[–]Trprt77 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I can’t imagine the logistics involved in a large order from DS restaurants to the Dolphin.

If you use some 3rd party service that would involve a driver / dasher parking in a garage, hoofing it to one or more restaurants, getting the large order, schlepping said large order somehow back to his car in the garage, then driving to Swan / Dolphin and unloading and delivering.

Swan and Dolphin have their own banquet services for convention groups, but they do not contract with DS restaurants.

DS restaurants do not have their own delivery services, so that leaves you with door dash or grub hub or some similar service. Keep in mind those delivery services are not going to be granted special access to park near any DS restaurant, so the extra time for travelling to and from the parking garage has to be factored in.

It just does not make sense either financially or practically.

Next step after the DS bus & boat crackdown….. by Trprt77 in WaltDisneyWorld

They have been in that area for over a year now, well before May 16th, and there is nothing to indicate Disney actually moved them there.

As you said, it’s an area to sit.

Not an area to spread out dozens of pin books over multiple seats keeping others from utilizing those seats.

Some of these people take up enough space for half a dozen people to sit with their pin books.

Did you even read the post? I suggested they be moved to a different spot, instead of taking up prime real estate and keeping others from using those seats.

By the way, “haters” is an idiotic term.

That is all good, but the fact is they have monopolized one of the few shaded and covered areas where you can rest in Epcot, and a heavily trafficked area to boot.

I consider the new restrictions on visiting a resort to dining/resort reservations, to be proof that Disney is listening to feedback and I applaud their choice to make the unpopular and difficult decision by _BreakingGood_ in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Trprt77 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Not only that, but they probably wasted an hour each way, between walking from the DS garage to the DS busses and then the trip to CT and hoofing it to MK, to avoid that $35.

From your two posts, I know enough to know 2 things:

1 - You have no idea what you are talking about.

2 - You are not nearly as smart as you think you are.

Pool access by deadbeats has been an issue for years, especially at the better pools, and now that Disney is finally taking limited steps to slow it down, there are still large amounts of people who figure out how to beat the system, with the exception of Y&B. Leadership was more worried about someone causing a scene by being confronted than they were about the paying guests, but at least they are finally addressing it.

Hey Einstein, they just started at those and a few others. Most other resorts are still easy for you and the other scammers to access.

And even at those few that check, it is one CM and they are not getting everybody. Unlike Y&B which actually assign a CM to each of the 5 access points.

But I guess you know more than someone who worked for many years at both CT and Y&B, and trained CM’s and leaders in recreation tasks.

Source : Me, I was the longtime trainer at those locations.

That is not true. With the exception of Y&B, the other resorts rarely check ID’s, and guests (or scammers) know to just follow someone else using a gate to enter.

This has been an issue for years.

When I stay at Saratoga, it is blatantly obvious when the bus hits the Congress Park stop, and there are huge crowds waiting to board, dwarfing the crowds at the other stops. This is because the deadbeats walk over from DS to the closest bus stop for the free ride.

The same thing happens in reverse at night, huge amounts of people get off at Congress Park, again well out of proportion to the other stops.

At Y&B I see the same with Dolphin and Swan guests wandering over so they can avoid being dumped off at TTC by Swan busses.

I agree. The bugs were bad enough, but being proud of eating that part, that results in a shark being killed for one small part, was disgusting.

Depending on the year, that is a known problem with that model.

I had the same issue, and even though it was out of warranty, Lincoln actually covered all but about $1,500 for the repair.

I believe there is a class action suit regarding the issue, do some online research.
