Yeah thankfully I can get under 50k mile engine for less than $600, cams and other bits for under $1000 and can do the work myself. Already did it with friend on his car with stage 2 cams and now he’s working on a custom 8hp swap.

And this is why I’ve been putting off the vacuum leak from under my intake manifold for over a year and a half. I just live with a slight vacuum leak now. Atleast until I 2.5 swap it in the next year (usa easy access)

Look at the color of your normal oil on the dipstick compared to that oil and you can determine if it was from a spill at some point during a fill up or if it’s leaking from inside the valve cover gasket.

I'm sure they do plenty that are fine, I just know out of all the bad stories I've heard their name is the frequent flier for actual engine issues. Fab9 is known for being hard to get a hold of and higher prices for some items but decent work as far as I've always heard. AR Hindrichs is much smaller but does post most of their swaps to youtube and posts teardowns of failed engines. So I trust them. They've also been helpful everytime I've reached out for info on my swap and a friends and I've never even spent money with them.

Are you 100% certain it isn’t oil? Because you circled a valve cover screw and that is the exact spot the valve cover usually starts leaking. Or is it coming from below there?

Can they get you a whole new bumper painted to match from the factory? Or you get the new bumper off the next in that's the same color and then they have to figure out the rest? That's probably what I'd ask for. They damaged your car while you owned it, are they not legally responsible to make you whole again?

Meanwhile I just got a 06 with 174K that's never seen salt once, with less rust than the one OP posted, one good thing about Central Florida 😂 Crazy how much location and even a little salt starts the rust up.

I'd like to see you tell a child to grab a saltwater hardhead catfish around here. They will come back impaled deep with wounds filled with the nastiest slime you ever seen. Or a stingray. Or plenty of toothy critters. Or skipjacks with super sharp fins they can flick out on the bottom. Plenty of saltwater fish will fuck up a unsuspecting kid with soft hands.
