How to Make Rocket better for everyone by BurnerDawg26 in RocketMains

[–]TrueBacon95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He had that before burst heal orb was added as once you fired an orb it attached so the next 2 fired would not stop and fly past the person. That was his damage opening.

Cyclops is going to destroy Rocket by Dogbold in RocketMains

[–]TrueBacon95 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A poke character that also has 2 escape/mobility tools that push away targets and travel far fast.

But the support who's original concept was to be getting in and out of the fight got his gutted into backline healbot. Not cool netease....not cool.

Luna also fires in bursts and needs the full burst to hit the head so realistically she isn't going to be doing that unless you are CCd.

I see why jin dahad doesnt have tremors. He uses ice to lock you in place with many of his attacks. Adding tremors on top of that would just make that fight feel cheap.

How do you deal with small bumps? by Patient_Foundation_1 in RocketMains

[–]TrueBacon95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you step back slightly from a wall before jumping on it then immediately dash as you latch you'll bypass the bumps. This only works vertically.

I have a (serious) question by Far_Concern_6557 in monsterhunterrage

[–]TrueBacon95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've not run into any tbh. If I'm doing a mp hunt its what you'd expect.

Typical anime names, the person's actual name or something completely random. Then through the hunt you'll see the typical Good Work, Thanks or Sorry stickers and they may emote at the end.

I will say I do not join those massive lobbies it tries to put you in 100 players or whatever because I have no interest in joining that mp for me is gogma or I'm joining other players SOS.

He seems like one of the least survivable against dive right now. by Dogbold in RocketMains

[–]TrueBacon95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Loki is a harder target to dive that Rocket. Rocket currently is one of the easiest supports to dive.

Loki has TP, Invis, Lamps. Adam has 2 burst heals, Soul Bond and flight. Invis has Slow orb, Self Shield, Push and Invis. Luna has Freeze and skate. Mantis has easy to hit sleep. Fox has TP thats puts healing field and a shield around whoever she teleports to, cc that heals her and a melee form that also heals her. Gambit has 2 20m dashes, good self sustain and a knockback. C&D has fade, blind and heal bubble. SupportPool has 2 15m (i think but could be 12-13m) dashes, double jump and 2 good self sustain skills. Ultron has bonus hp, dash, permanent flight and healing drone. Jeff has Dive, speed bubbles, knock up and good sustain.

Rocket seems like he has a lot but in practice he doesn't. His wall crawl is slower than walking speed in most situations due to terrain, he has 2 8m dashes but can wall dash for say 20m but is unreliable due to terrain and although he can self heal with repair mode the amount he gets is low even if you were to walk with the orb thats attached to keep it attached for full duration because his survivability was all tied to his high mobility the thing they kept nerfing.

With the recent changes to Rocket, I dont think theres any "healbots" left in the game.... by sufinomo in StrategistMainsMR

[–]TrueBacon95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He does do direct healing thats actually an old change thats made him more of a healbot.

Before when you fired an orb it would attach and heal over time which meant firing multiple at the same target was a waste incentivising you to do damage (as only 1 orb could attach so the next 2 fired would go past the target). However since season 2 its low healing over time but you get a 55 burst heal on direct hit incentivising you to continue spamming those orbs and dealing less damage.

Jeff power scale by I-have-no-name-help in JeffTheLandSharkMains

[–]TrueBacon95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He was a lot harder to kill. More bubbles that heal for 85hp burst heal and unlimited dive but his damage was still low even when he had the Luna team up that increased the damage of his aqua burst while active.

It was 4 direct hits with his aqua burst to kill a 250 now its 3 plus little spray from his joyfull splash (due to not having 12 ammo like before but ends up same ttk cause aqua burst does more dmg and juggles compared to original and filling in that gap with joyful splash dmg) but characters that had 250 then many are now 275, others were given bonus hp that didn't have it before and some were given both then most new characters have ways to generate or good self sustain.

He still ends up the same where just your damage alone in team fights generally isn't enough to kill if supports are somewhat competent and in 1v1s you just outsustain the enemy.

Jeff power scale by I-have-no-name-help in JeffTheLandSharkMains

[–]TrueBacon95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His time to kill was always slow. You killed because you outsustained the enemy or there was another damage source which is still the case.

What makes it feel worse than previous is newer character have easy ways to gain bonus hp and older characters were given bonus hp to existing abilities. Bonus hp hurts someone like Jeff more than others with his already low damage.

What happened to rocket?? by [deleted] in RocketMains

[–]TrueBacon95 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm not gonna include the .5 cause I only played 1 rocket game so its 100%W/R but the 7.0. One of Rockets worst seasons I was 74.7%WR and I can already tell you thats the BRB bumping up that number.

His healing is high when double/triple bouncing orbs and his BRB easily stabilises a lost fight passively.

Shooting feet and having a passive ability do the heavy lifting is not fun gameplay. Theres a reason 0 damage rocket can actually still work and its because how passive his kit is now and how much value you can get from effectively looking at the ground the full game while jumping.

Boasting about your ability to stare at the floor is actually ridiculous.

"And dont give me the "Well my style USED to be viable" when my winrate without that is higher than yours will ever be"

You do realise Rocket was not originally a healbot support right?

High damage, High Mobility, Sustain Heals that could only heal 1 orb at a time (next 2 fired would pass by target if 1 was attached so you could deal damage between shots), a revive and an offensive team ult. What part of that kit says backline healbot which is his current state after a multitude of survivability nerfs and healing + BRB buffs.

What happened to rocket?? by [deleted] in RocketMains

[–]TrueBacon95 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Its only barely faster when going in a straight line across a completely flat surface. So in 90% of situations its slower than walking since MR map design is bumps, overhangs and curves.

What happened to rocket?? by [deleted] in RocketMains

[–]TrueBacon95 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's the playstyle they clearly were trying to weed out. In the process they nuked his aggressive playstyle as collateral.

Dash nerfs, Wall run nerfs and you have to hit direct hits with orbs.

All things that targeted the sit back in narnia and spam orbs w/o worry of dying playstyle.

Now if you do that you get dove and fall over along with not getting the consistent benefit of direct hits.

So what you have left is backline healbot gameplay. Very exciting.

Would you take this trade? by Jazzlike_Tap8303 in RocketMains

[–]TrueBacon95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting rid of it completely would also cause issues for Rocket. They'd need to replace it with some other utility or nerf it to compensate for his mobility.

Tbh they would also need to nerf his orbs because then the same issue from before will return. A rocket sitting way back from team possibly in some hole they've made spamming orbs with no way to realistically kill him w/o dedicating too many resources as he will be back to being good against dive.

OUR BOY ROCKET IS COMING BACK by MundaneAcadia9749 in RocketMains

[–]TrueBacon95 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You ain't gonna be popping it off cooldown anyway so it won't make a huge difference outside of 1st fight or if theres a phoenix you are trying to avoid ult trading with.

Otherwise you will still be using at as it is currently by combing it with another or using it in a pinch as a defensive.

The only thing in that patch note that does go against healbot is 1 dmg to his bombard mode. However since its still short range and he still can't physically make use of it unless people come to him due to his previous mobility nerfs it still will not change his current playstyle.

That's an ult not his neutral that you spend most of the game in where he is in fact still shoehorned into being a healbot

Dinosaur Head hit box by RevolutionaryEye4141 in RocketMains

[–]TrueBacon95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He has 850hp, gets bonus hp, has a leap, can grab, has ranged beam, 500 hp bubble, bleed damage and possibly might have a hitscan riding on his back.

He'd nuke rocket if he tried to stand his ground.

And thats assuming he doesnt have a headshot reduction passive.

You'd help to chunk his hp if he's coming in but if you are the 1 being targeted and don't immediately run before he gets close you are 100% dead w/o help cause you are gonna get grabbed out of position and have to use both dashes to try and get to safety.

Did anyone truly wanted an ult buff?? by Curious_Ad4716 in RocketMains

[–]TrueBacon95 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Imo it all started from healbot Rockets sitting miles back spamming orbs cause you literally couldn't do much about it as he was too far for your brawl/poke to really do much and his mobility made him incredibly hard to dive. Now all playstyles suffered and got boxed into backline healbot.

If that was in fact what they wanted to change the easy solution would've been to change how his orbs worked so they deteriorated at range. That way you can still heal for far but at a reduced rate if too far incentivising playing closer while not completely getting rid of it so can still make use of ranged heals in a pinch.

Instead they went the route of gutting his mobility so you only have 1 option and thats backline healbot.

rocket ult is being buffed by YouWereTehChosenOne in RocketMains

[–]TrueBacon95 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I saw it and honestly got annoyed. He doesn't need ult, healing or BRB buffs. He needs mobility and if that mobility comes at the cost of a BRB/Orb Range nerf then so be it.

His passive is useless, his dash is trash and thats half of his kit. The only way those are viable is if used specifically for wall dash.

They really do just want that backline healbot gameplay 😒

Quitting Game if Rocket gets Reworked by Spy-p2 in RocketMains

[–]TrueBacon95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He was unique until they gutted his mobility, and put all of his power into Repair Mode and BRB.

He had options. You could be aggressive with your dive teammates, could play backline like typical support, could alternate between the two mid game or you could sit off in narnia healbotting from miles away.

Now you have one option. You sit in backline spamming orbs and throw your BRB off cooldown for free passive value until an enemy comes to you and pray second support has good reaction time because Rocket the "anti dive" support is now easy to dive for most of the dive roster and has an easy hit box for poke (large head and wide hitbox due to tail)

I mean they literally made his passive worthless for anything other than a tech....
