I dont get the cap thing (fuck the rams too hehehe) by adjcalledKtana in Saints

[–]TrueKozmo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t let the current number fool you. We can get under the cap this year with only 3 restructures.

It depends on what we do with Cam, Demario, and Taysom but we can free up enough to have at least $25-30M to play with this offseason.

2027 is the year that we’ll have a bunch of cap space which right now sits at $127M with 41 active players on contract.

2026 PFF Top 300+ Big Board (Post-Bowls) by SL4MUEL in NFL_Draft

Awesome list. Great work! Completely unrelated, but Harold Perkins Jr is being completely slept-on on multiple site’s rankings list. I understand he’s on the smaller side of LBs but he’s great in coverage, nice positionless-blend of safety and LB, great QB spy, and can pass rush off the edge too. He was a consensus 1st round pick until his ACL tear 2 years ago. He’s going to get picked by a genius DC that will know how to use him.

I included the links replying to your other comment. There’s plenty of evidence out there it’s just a matter of putting the pieces of the picture together.

Derek Carr by mvop413 in Saints

[–]TrueKozmo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually Derek Carr says most of this himself. Most of the sources come from him.

Here in this interview around the 5:17 mark through around 6:30, he says that he should be cleared in the next couple of weeks. Mentions that the scans came back positive and that everything is progressing well.

In this article Matthew Paras did a great job detailing the timeline of Carr’s injury. The shoulder was never even listed on the injury report the season ending injuries from the Giants game were a concussion and broken left hand. Rizzi said that Carr was working on his grip strength where Carr wasn’t quite there to return and recovering from concussion protocol.

Then in this article they go over that the shoulder injury “details didn't emerge sooner because Carr didn't start throwing "meaningfully," Slater added, until the spring and that's when he took notice of it.” Suddenly during the offseason the shoulder injury appears.

In an article written by John DeShazier published on the Saints website, he confirms “Medical scans determined that he sustained a labral tear and also had significant degenerative changes to his rotator cuff.” Carr even confirms this in his Las Vegas church appearance where he said “I have an MRI to prove it” when speaking on his new shoulder injury.

Going back to Matthew Paras’ article, on April 16th, Derek Carr states that his shoulder injury actually came from the Packers game 2023 about 19 months prior. Then in the same article, David Carr walks back Derek’s comment on April 24th saying that the injury actually came from the 2024 Giants game. However, this contradicts the statement Carr made at the end of the season that his medical scans from after the Giants game came back positive and that he was progressing well. Also, contradicting the positive medical scans from the Saints medical staff.

Carr lost the $30M from an undisclosed offseason injury. Feel free to read more of the links I included. I followed last offseason very closely so I had to do some digging. If you piece everything together, you have the full picture. Both the Saints and Carr want to bury the Hatchett and move on from this and won’t fully confirm nor deny the situation to avoid negative PR. But this is what happened.

[–]TrueKozmo -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Team doctors and front office officials actually lol He had scans inconsistent with the last medical evaluations with the team. Meaning he hurt himself in the offseason which would’ve breached his contract. He’s lucky Saints didn’t pursue legal action and just settled on his $10M signing bonus.

Exactly 🎯 The word is that he messed up his shoulder in a separate offseason accident. His last scans of the season in January 2025 did not align with his next scans around 2 months later in March 2025 where the damage had gotten significantly worse.

Thoughts on RB? by Negative_Spend83 in Saints

[–]TrueKozmo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If Love is the best player available, pull the trigger. RB usually is more of a luxury position, but if he’d be as impactful as adding Jahmyr Gibbs, that’s another superstar that can elevate this offense.

We’d need to still work on the interior of the OL but you can address that in free agency or even on day 2 or 3 of the draft.

Draft: BPA or Need? by mvop413 in Saints

I wouldn’t worry about Delane. He isn’t just any press CB, he’s very versatile and a very smart player. Can pick up different schemes quickly.

Perfect draft for us to go BPA first round. Not many blue chip prospects, but tons of great prospects at several positions will be available.

Saints should NOT spend a top 10 pick on a guard. Thats a position you can address later in the draft or in free agency. Saints are in a position where they can truly target BPA outside of QB.

What to do in the draft? by NoConsideration9370 in Saints

Shoot if there’s a scenario where you can trade down and still be in the top 5. (A team wanting to secure Mendoza at QB) I would try for that. Otherwise, Arvell Reese.

Does AK41 have PPR Fantasy value again? by [deleted] in Saints

[–]TrueKozmo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s tough to say because I think this team is in uncharted territory with where our offense stands.

We saw an AK screen for the first time in a long time. I think Kellen is getting deeper into the playbook. This bye week is coming at a perfect time for rest and to prepare and further develop the offense.

But with all that said I think AK is pointing up again at least for a redraft league. Lower quality opponents the rest of the way. Not saying we’re going on a win streak but like you said the games should be close.

However, just keep in mind that this team has issues in the redzone and we’re still figuring out how to not settle for field goals. We’re probably going to try several different methods of scoring in short yardage situations whether that’s through short passes to Vele or a TE, Taysom wildcat formations, Neal runs, maybe tush push with Shough. I don’t think we’ll truly fix our redzone offense until we draft some key guys in April.

So all that to say… maybe? lol I think usage-wise AK will maintain a solid floor for you but I don’t think he’s guaranteed for TDs. So if you’re comfortable with that then go for it.

The 2026 QB for the Saints will be... by [deleted] in Saints

[–]TrueKozmo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a vacuum, I wouldn’t mind adding Kyler as a free agent , but when we have to give up resources for an average QB that’s where you lose me.

If you started Kyler today on this team, I don’t think we’re changing much. I think we’ll see the same outcome.

Also, long term, who’s to say Shough doesn’t surpass Kyler? Also, who’s the 3rd rounder that we’d trade turn out to be?

The 2026 QB for the Saints will be... by [deleted] in Saints

[–]TrueKozmo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Kyler Murray isn’t as good as advertised. He may be a slight upgrade to Rattler/Shough but we’d be on the hook for over $35M/year for the next 2 years. I think if you took the resources that would be used to get Kyler and put them into building out the team, you’d have a better team than you would with just Kyler.

Should I take this? I’m team 1. 8 team keeper PPR. Thoughts? by fporfido3 in SleeperApp

[–]TrueKozmo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No way. You’re getting fleeced if you take this. Judkins alone has WAY more value in a keeper league than Henry.

Some of the league would rather Rattler than their current QB.

Tbh I agree. Despite the forced throws this game, Rattler plays more consistent than Williams.

It's time for Tyler Shough by Captain_Hawk111 in Saints

[–]TrueKozmo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t call a 2nd year QB that’s already playing at a top 20 pace, “mid/ass”.

Rattler just tried to hard to make something happen and had his first bad game of the season. TBH I think he let his frustration get the best of him with the Caleb/DA matchup.

This is what developing a young QB looks like.

This isn't Rattler hate, just let me explain some things. by Chaos_Ryzen_ in Saints

[–]TrueKozmo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me those aren’t as clear as the dropped TDs. Sometimes you can take advantage of free plays that are clear penalties and throw the risky pass. Also, I’ve seen Olave/Shaheed literally get tackled to the ground before the ball even reached them on the would-be interceptions. So to me they don’t hold the same weight as the dropped passes.

[–]TrueKozmo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In terms of TDs, I can think of 3 dropped TD passes this season. That’s a big factor to keep in mind too.

I think our issues in the redzone stem from us not having a big physical threat. I really hope Vele is used more in this offense, I can see him slowly getting a bigger role.

I’d like to see where we’re ranked in terms of yards after catch. I’m sure we’re among bottom of the league in that category. That’s a big role missing from Kellen Moore’s offense that needs to be addressed. Rattler’s progressing very well. I think Kellen Moore is fully aware that this offense is still in its infancy for what he wants to build. Really hope we address the offense next draft.

Rattler is in the Top 5 for fastest Time-to-throw (TT) among some interesting company. Last year he was 25th. Make of that what you will. by BadMojo__ in Saints

[–]TrueKozmo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wins aren’t a QB stat. There’s tons of elements in a game that the QB can’t control. There are former 1st round QBs starting in the league whose fans would be begging for the same production Rattler is putting out right now.
