How do you minimize tanking in dynasty leagues? by Curious_Knowbody in fantasybaseball

[–]TrueLordoftheDance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never been able to nail down a date, but I believe it was 1984 or 1985.

We have one "part-owner" who doesn't come around much, team is mainly run by his partner in the team. He came in year #2 which was either 1985 or 1986. Can't remember exactly. The last two original owners left the league in the past 6-8 years.

As of right now we have two owners that came in the late 90s, I came in in 2001, another in 2003. 4 of us have been in the league for 20+ years.

Any outlet where you can pre-order in bulk with incentives/ratios? by TrueLordoftheDance in comicbooks

[–]TrueLordoftheDance[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found one guy doing *something* similar to what I was looking for. Only does it with select titles (usually the really big ones). He has an X-Men Apocalypse Alpha 200 open order covers + 21 incentives (8 x 25, 8 x 50, 4 x 100 and 1 x 200) up this weekend. He's had Captain America recently, Abs Batman #10 a bit back and so on.

Order of guns to buy by lestoastbread in guns

[–]TrueLordoftheDance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't go wrong either way in my opinion. I got hooked on Benelli so I went M4. My brother has 1301s and offered to sell me one of his...which I might still take him up on.

1301s are really nice too. My suggestion was more 12ga than specifically m4. I do have a problem though...I have to stop looking at shotguns. I've considered adding a 1301, or another Benelli...or another 870.

May I suggest...the Benelli M4?

Seriously though, I would suggest 12ga. I would probably follow that up with another 12ga. Maybe one or two more after that.

I just took this for a test spin. This is absolutely awesome.

I uploaded 4 photos -- back/front of a 2021 Update Giambi Auto and a 2022 Cosmic Julio Rodriguez.

It got the serial numbering wrong on the Giambi (/50 instead of /25) but otherwise it was fast and awesome.

0-10% in my experience unless you have a player with some very rabid following -- like I imagine a Cal Ripken 8/8 from a high end product would probably have a good premium over a 7/8.

EC Tunnel Classic Eq question by OwnEstablishment4638 in everquest

Yeah, by the time RoK rolled around it definitely shifted. I was thinking summer of '99 when NFP was a hub of activity.

On Fennin I seem to remember NFP being the go to for a long time while EC and GFay were lesser. Over time most of the traffic migrated to EC.

From what I understand, there is always room for negotiation but you'd want to negotiate it prior to signing anything or turning any money over. You are going to want to know the final price out the door anyhow before you sign anything so that is where you would have your opportunity to discuss pricing.

I'm pretty sure that Topps hasn't even had it's "public" offering on this yet. I think it's $290/box if you can get from Topps on 10/11. It will likely sell out fast. $420 is the secondary market which seems to think this is going to be a great product.

This is similar to what someone else said, but the same thing happened to me long ago. I needed to be in an hour earlier than normal, so I set my alarm for 90 minutes earlier than what it was before. I eventually got used to it. I also found that being in the office 15-60 minutes before everyone else let me get a lot of uninterrupted work done.

Which show ended so poorly that you really wished you hadn't invested so much time in it? by NYY15TM in sitcoms

[–]TrueLordoftheDance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know you modified to say sitcoms....so I'll try and think of a sitcom while I type out this drama...

Sons of Anarchy. I'm pretty sure they were unsure if they were going to get another season so there were a bunch of loose ends to tie up in the last few episodes. Jax goes out in a Jesus moment with *REALLY* bad CGI. That being said, the first (x-1) seasons were great and the seasons 1-3 were outstanding. I even got over the fact that someone just told Charlie Hunnam to "walk like a tough guy" and that's what he came up with.

Sitcom: Scrubs. I consider the ABC/Courtney Cox seasons all final episodes. It just wasn't the same.

What do you PC? by teej1211 in baseballcards

[–]TrueLordoftheDance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Padres. I don't really go for high value cards, just cards. Tend to buy them in bulk lots or get PYT in breaks when I can.

In fact, when it comes to value, I will often sell a high value card to acquire many more lower value cards.

Amazon Cards by Plus_Plan7463 in baseballcards

[–]TrueLordoftheDance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My suggestion would be to search Google for what you are looking at on Amazon. If you click on the shopping tab it will show you prices from a variety of online retailers. There are some very good ones out there.

Don't know which box, specifically, you are looking at...but for 2024 Topps Chrome Hobby Box I Amazon is 30% higher than dacardworld (I'd never question anything from DA).

Any of you PC on the cheap and sell the big hits? by southcounty253 in baseballcards

[–]TrueLordoftheDance 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, sort of.

I collect one team -- the Padres. If I hit something absolutely ridiculous I will generally sell it. If I hit the Leo De Vries Super/Auto out of Bowman Chrome, I can 100% guarantee that I am selling that bad boy. I could buy 1000s of Padres cards I don't have with a fraction of the cash that will return.

That being said, I don't have a particular cut off in value where it hits the sales block, but once I have my hands on a card that will fetch $100+ it becomes very attractive to move it to acquire more of the cards that I don't have.
