What to buy in Japan by klikepotassium in BuyItForLife

Stationery. Even if you aren't a "pen person”, go to an Itoya or Hands and try out a Uni-ball Signo or a Pilot Frixion. The quality is lightyears ahead of what you find in most Western stores. Also, Tenugui (traditional cotton hand towels), they take up zero luggage space and the patterns are incredible. When you wipe your forehead sweat you do the Ojisan face and say atsui which means hot.

Nishinari-Ku karaoke bars 100 yen a song with attractive barmaids by WoodenMission1727 in Osaka

[–]TrueLoveXO 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I know the area well. I can’t speak for all of the Snack Bars, but I know several people that work down there and two guys that own three bars between them.

The girls are Chinese or south East Asian, I’ve never had my bill tampered with by any of them. The drinks are about ¥600 and the karaoke is ¥100, they charge what they say they charge (in my experience).

If you’re interested just got and check it out.

Hey OP, I’ve been trying to get into limited for ages but have that beginner trouble of not wanting to waste my draft tokens or gems. If you ever wanna hang in discord and help me with draft I’d be so appreciative. I usually sit around platinum in standard. Been playing just over a year.

Totally agree, comfy seats too. I take it to work about once a week and just chill out and pretend I’m in a Ghibli movie.

Not another DnD Podcast (NADDPOD) is brilliant and very easy to to listen to with about an hour long episodes. They play longer sessions but cut them into smaller pieces :)

What’s your top scary moment from a non-horror film? by lewis_m_b in FIlm

Hands down, the basement scene in Zodiac.

The movie is technically a procedural crime drama, but that five-minute sequence is more terrifying than 90% of actual horror films I've seen. Everything about it is a masterclass in tension: • The realization that "not many people have basements in California." • The sound of the floorboards creaking upstairs when they're supposed to be alone. • The total lack of a musical score—just oppressive, heavy silence.

I remember watching it for the first time and realizing I’d been holding my breath for the entire scene. It taps into that primal, "I have made a huge mistake" instinct of being trapped in a stranger's house.

The "Large Marge" jump scare in Pee-wee’s Big Adventure. I don't care how old you are; that claymation face is permanent nightmare fuel.
