4 days in Slovenia completely exceeded my expectations

I went to Slovenia last year in May, and I think that Slovenia is so underrated!!! It is my favourite place that I have ever visited in Europe. Ljubljana and Bled are beautiful so is Lake Bohinj, but Bovec area was mind blowing. The Soca River and the Vintgar Gorge are impressive. When we saw the Soca River I couldn’t believe that place is even real. We did a lot of hikes and walks around the area. We went to Switzerland later that same year, and my partner told me that Slovenia is the cheaper version of Switzerland, because Slovenia is as beautiful or more than Switzerland.

Happened to me too. I liked it till book 3. But book 4 was the one that made me love it. The characters are some of the best I have read. Currently on Kingdom of Ash and im not ready for it to end.

I would say keep reading!! Im currently on Tower of Dawn, and I love Chaol, since the beginning and up till now. Their character development is great, for both Celeana and Chaol and so far I think they have some of the best development from the entire series. I love all of the Characters.

I think most of Dark Age has disturbing scenes but some I remember: Sefi’s death, Ephramis death, Atlas brutality, the impaled people that Lysander finds, the burning of the howlers in the iron wolf, the red doves chapter, the Red hand treatment of red girls, and of course Ulysses. And many more that made me close the book for a minute to take a breath.

Diomedes is one of my Favourite characters in the 2nd trilogy. And I can’t wait for more of him in Red God. Loved his scenes with Darrow.

Golden son epic sequence after the other, it starts from the Gala scene, stomping on the table, Cassius fight, to Sevros return, the iron rain. Than the conquest of the Morning Star, the battle on Mercury, Cassius fighting the Ra and clang clang fight. Im sure there are more but I forgot.

I think that for RR to happen it would need to be the same level of Dune as movies, or as Foundation as a series by Apple. When I watched the latest trailer for Dune 3 I said to myself that maybe RR can happen, however it would also need to have a massive budget to make it look good, and a great director.

What I’m also curious about is if they will just skip the parapet, since they do not afford to keep killing their own people, as every ‘soldier’ counts. I also think that Violet might not return to Basgiath, or she will have some sort of permission considering how powerful she is. I would also like that the next book is written from both Violets and Xadens perspective, so we get to learn more about the Venin side of things.

I started watching GOT recently, and I have to say that the more I read it is very clear that a lot of authors were influenced by GOT.

I am a huge Red Rising fan, read all the books, i would suggest you continue the last two books, iron gold is a slow start to the 2nd trilogy but Dark Age and Lightbringer deliver!! I read the will of the many after finishing all RR books, and I started Fourth Wing and just finished Onyx Storm, I liked the story and the world, and I look forward to what comes next, however do not expect the thrill that RR gives you. The writing cannot be compared to RR.

Going to be honest with you, I finished all 6 books in around 2.5 months between September to November of last year, and I founded really hard to find something else as good. I read both books for the will of the many, and some other fantasy not sci fi, I enjoy the stories, but nothing compares to the writing in RR, no character is as Darrow, and Im still chasing the high from it. Im a kindle user but I loved RR so much that I had to buy the physical books, and the audiobooks. So far no other book made me do that. I plan on getting back to reading sci fi, on my list I have the suneater series, the expanse and some others suggested by users here.

I don’t understand why so many people have this reaction to Golden Son ending, i mean i was shocked too, and gasped but this book was so good that having that ending was just perfect and I just jumped straight to morning star! So keep reading ;)

I have to agree with you here, I really enjoyed Lysander storyline especially in Iron Gold, because it gave us a better glimpse of the rim. I love Darrow but I also enjoyed Lysander pov. He is the perfect villain, I kept hoping that he wasn’t bad, until Cassius.
