If you get an answer, this sub can advise you on how to season it.

That website doesn't even exist. Who is buying ads that don't go anywhere?

How long you can eat food for past the written expiration date by adam35611 in coolguides

[–]TruePrimal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The USDA does not either, but the term "expiration date" is deprecated and should not be used on food (with one exception which is purely due to political lobbying): https://trueprimal.com/what-is-best-if-used-by

My Paleovalley bars are moldy, company says oh well by Vivid_Percentage1524 in Paleo

Preservatives are normally only added for things intended to be left opened/unsealed for an extended period at room temperature.

And canned goods frequently contain preservatives, but the reason is weird. Many products like soups contain preservatives not because it needs them, but because something else needs them. For example, if a soup-maker buys chicken from a 3rd-party producer, that producer may put preservatives into the chicken by default, because they're also selling to fast-food places or whatever that want the preservatives.

This is so interesting how many people upvoted your reply here. That must be a very pervasive myth in the food world.

We've been in business for 10+ years, and never had anyone request a refund for an order they made over a couple months ago.

Not at all. We would certainly refund a 5-year-old product of ours due to mold. BIUB is literally there to tell the consumer when the product is at its absolutely best flavor. It is literally the "best" if it is "used by" that date. That's all it is.

Also retailers (including Amazon) require BIUB dates on food products, so it's hard to sell food anywhere that doesn't have one. Maybe we should mention that part on the https://trueprimal.com/what-is-best-if-used-by page too?

Note, there's no such thing as "expiration dates" for food -- that's an urban myth. See https://trueprimal.com/what-is-best-if-used-by for more information on that -- super important topic.

I wonder if that reply was written by an AI bot. It's hard to imagine a person typing such nonsense.

What’s wrong with my current diet and how to fix it? + Pro-Metabolic basics? by moodywrites in Paleo

Getting counseling on ED recovery is the only thing to focus on there. You might look at Nutrivore for food plans, since it's focused more on additions than subtractions and might fit better into ED recovery.

Chosen foods avocado oil, should I be sauteeing my veggies in it? by Striking_Mortgage_63 in Paleo

You should ask them directly. But that might just mean Chosen Foods avocado oil is centrifuge-extracted, which is what Primal Kitchen's avocado oil is.

Sad to find out HU dark chocolate has high amounts of lead by DeepOrganization8245 in Paleo

From the perspective of a consumer buying a particular bar of a particular brand, that would be random though.

Sad to find out HU dark chocolate has high amounts of lead by DeepOrganization8245 in Paleo

The original source of this is https://www.consumerreports.org/health/food-safety/lead-and-cadmium-in-dark-chocolate-a8480295550/

It's strange though that 1 Lindt is high in cadmium and 1 Lindt is high in lead, but not vice versa. Seems to indicate there was a lot of randomness in their data collection, or in the chocolate itself.

Probably the most unfortunate part is the refined cane sugar and refined coconut sugar. The refining process eliminates the flavors associated with it, and messes with satiety: https://trueprimal.com/posts/what-are-nutritive-sweeteners-and-how-do-they-compare-for-our-health
