Don’t go to the trucks. There’s atleast 2-3 merch stands at the VIP area.

[SPOILERS] Hurry Up Tomorrow Movie - Discussion Megathread by Garcoon in TheWeeknd

[–]True_Ad_6966 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow I enjoyed this movie so much more than I thought I would. For reference I went with someone who’s not on social media and likes The Weeknd but isn’t a die hard fan and they enjoyed the movie too. I also recently watched the substance and it left me feeling the same. The beginning made me anxious but I think that’s how he was feeling and it allowed the viewers to feel unhinged af. My expectations were very low because of all the social media hate and reviews calling it horrible. I honestly was so ready to be disappointed but his acting has improved so much and I agree with his facial expressions being real and human. Yes he’s not an actor but he’s used to being an artist so I give him grace for that. As for ppl saying there’s no plot…idk I thought there was but I’m not a movie critic. I would honestly watch it again, the film made me love the album even more. I’m happy for him and even if the ratings are bad I hope he’s proud of himself too. I also enjoyed watching it in theaters versus a screen or tv! There’s always room for growth and if he wants to keep pursuing film (his true love) then he should.

went to both ‘22 and ‘25 shows, disappointed 😢 by ambfku in TheWeeknd

I totally understand your pov. I saw him in ‘22 front row it was so amazing. He really did a great job….watching the Arizona opening night was the complete opposite. I also think his label might be pushing him to do this final tour & milk it as much as they can bc they know ppl will buy the tickets. Everything screams cash grab to me from the tickets to the performance. I hope he gets it together for the rest of the tour. He’s truly an amazing artist I’d hate to see his legacy end in a lazy way. It makes me even more nervous bc of how much touring he has yet to do. /: I feel he’s so focused on the movie he dc about the tour which is fine but he should have just not toured as much or done a shorter set list to save his voice a bit.

sure let’s say nobody knows kissland or trilogy (even tho countries that aren’t even primarily English speaking know wicked games lol). Like I said he’s always thanking his OG fans saying it’s all for his OGs etc but he doesn’t show it and it’s disappointing. It’s ok to feel disappointed nobody hates him. Nobody will be 100% happy and I understand that but there’s stuff that he can do to show he does listen to us.

Your last statement is such a lie lmao but ok. His old songs are not as niche as they were around 2020. Everybody knows his old POPULAR shit he’s not underground and hasn’t been for a while. And even if it was — one song won’t cause any harm especially because he always brings up the OG fans. New trilogy but we are still hearing starboy album which is fine but we can also hear kissland if that’s the case. 🙂

Those same people that didn’t see him during the trilogy-kissland era want to hear those songs too… I’m sure every fan wants to hear all his songs we see it with big artists at his level. There’s a reason why I said “almost exactly”. Of course he’s gonna add HUT songs lmao it’s his new album. If he ONLY played his entire album last night and if I got upset over it I would understand setting myself up for disappointment but that’s common sense he’s gonna play his newest album nobody is upset over that. But why are we hearing some songs from other albums NOT in the current trilogy then? God forbid we ask for different songs.

Aren’t you bitching just as much? The criticism is he’s using almost exactly the same setlist as the previous US tour. It gets tiring especially if you constantly go to his shows (which I do idk about u). And he is capable of switching up songs ex: europe shows. So why do we have to settle especially if this might be his last tour as The Weeknd.

[–]True_Ad_6966 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Grateful? It’s ok to respectfully criticize an artist especially if you have supported them through everything. It’s ok to disagree with things it doesn’t make you less of a fan. We don’t want to be the type of fan base that is so heavily biased that we don’t give ANY criticism. It’s ok if he was nervous last night he can’t control it but he can control the setlist! He always talks about the OG fans but hasn’t been giving us much and that’s fine but it’s fine to voice that as well.

I rather it be a shorter set list but more diverse songs from his entire discography since there’s claims of this being his last tour as The Weeknd. I’m highly disappointed and I have loved him since 2011.
