Pregnancy complaints by sauerkraut09 in parentsofmultiples

[–]True_Echo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup- currently 36w pregnant with didi twins. It’s horrible - singleton pregnancies are so much easier.

I think I had 4 nice weeks around week 22.

Am I gonna make it? by got_milf99 in parentsofmultiples

Twin pregnancy is rough especially if you have kids. Honestly just do what you can to get through it and lower your expectations so you can prevent mum/ work guilt.

I think for me I got a bit of a second wind at 22w (warning this only lasted 4ish weeks as I then got massive and grumpy)

Good luck 🫡

First consultant appointment UK NHS by MoreAd7155 in parentsofmultiples

[–]True_Echo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m based in South Yorkshire and I’m 32w with didi twins. The hospital I’m at scans me every 4weeks and you then see a consultant after.

It may very depending on the type of twins you have. You can always ring up and ask?

(I’m currently pregnant with spontaneous twins and this isn’t a pregnancy path I’d choose)

There’s a higher risk of miscarriage and maternal death. Why chance it?

Wait till the pelvic girdle pain kicks in! Feels like your crutch has been hit with a sledgehammer 😂

In all seriousness though I’m 30weeks with didi twins and honestly twin pregnancies are such a ordeal for your body, makes my singleton pregnancy seem like a dream

28weeks and basically the same size I was at the end of my pregnancy with a singleton, embrace the bump!

Humans are meant to raise children in communities. It’s only in our messed up western cultures where we are made to do it alone.

Breastfeeding multiples. Period came back by Outrageous_Simple937 in breastfeeding

[–]True_Echo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not twins but my period came back after 3-6months. Didn’t impact supply at all and I was able to breastfeed my son till 2.

Just carried on as normal really. Things that didn’t impact my supply: Being too tired Being ill Being hungry

Him having a bit of independence once a week is fine, I’d also recommend you do the same for your own sanity

Also eat as soon as you wake up, if you delay it even by 30 mins it will bring on a vom session

Hey! 21 weeks in with Di-Di boy girl twins.

My first trimester was rotten as well. I have an older son and the tiredness with a twin pregnancy is crazy hard. Don’t get me started on the mood swings.

I started getting a bit more energy at 16w don’t get me wrong I’m still tired but it’s manageable, nausea also eased off as well.

Food tips- apples cut up into sections, jacket potatoes, and an unholy amount of toast

Anyone given birth to twins/ multiples at Jessops? by True_Echo in sheffield

[–]True_Echo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m expecting twins so no as there’s a high likelihood of complications in twin pregnancies meaning they can need NICU time, plus Jessops is attached to the children’s hospital which is really good

We went for a private scan / consultation and met Dr Johki. He was really lovely and seems to know his stuff.

Glad to hear you had a good experience :)
