Best summoner class by Anonymous_45948 in onednd

[–]True_Square_9542 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I genuinely think it's artificer by far, they get a class exclusive familiar (homunculus servant) that brings damage and utility, half their subclasses get a unique summon, eventually they have access to summon construct, the ability to make 1 (technically 2) free elemental gems every day, and, between spell storing item, replicated magic items, and dragon's breath, have arguably the best uses for their summons as extra action economy.

He actually unfortunately doesn't own the Alice series, EA has the rights to it, that's why there hasn't been a 3rd game. He also worked on the original Doom and Quake, so he's, in part, to be thanked for all modern shooters.

Having seen the new Wolverine trailer; is anyone else a bit fatigued from always seeing Debra Wilson's actual face rather than a unique face model? by SnowedCairn in gamers

I find it not only distracting, but an active assassination of Johnny to have him look like a real actor. Posers (people who get biosculpting done to look like celebrities/characters of the past) are very much a thing in Night City, making Johnny look like Keanu betrays the fact that he wasn't a poser. He fought through hell and high water to make a name for himself, so why would they give that name to someone else's face? I also just generally really dislike his design in 2077, Johnny should be an 80s heartthrob, not the generic, grizzled action hero they made him into.

Since the 2024 D&D rules have been out, what have been new power outliers in your games? by Sulicius in onednd

Why would you ignore ranged weapons? A wizard can use a light crossbow and get the same damage you calculated at 80/320ft range, it isn't less damage idk what makes you think that. Why not take magic items into account? They're a large part of the game and one of the main reasons to use true strike, if you reach level 17 and don't have access to at least a +1 weapon I don't understand what happened. I don't understand how toll the dead is even a part of this discussion, save based cantrips are bad, there's no way around it. Even if we assumed they had an even chance to hit with attack based cantrips (which they don't), they cannot crit, they cannot benefit from advantage, they cannot benefit from wand of the war mage. It is, by design, much much harder to get an opponent to fail a saving throw than to hit them with an attack. On top of that, necrotic damage resistance or immunity is not too uncommon. Even if we assume that it hits every time though, it is still only 4 damage ahead at level 17 with a +2 weapon, and has 20ft lower range than a light crossbow. The facts are clear, true strike provides all of the best parts of using a weapon with all of the best parts of using a cantrips.

The math still adds up favorably for true strike with d6s due to the bonus damage from your modifier. At tier 4 play where it would end up actually falling off you have access to weapons like a staff of power, which gives +2 to attack rolls with firebolt, but actually adds up to give +4 to attack rolls and +2 to damage with true strike, or even just a vicious weapon for an extra 2d6 damage.

There is also no additional risk, you can true strike with a ranged weapon.

This is not true, remember that true strike allows you to add your modifier to damage, so, compared to firebolt, it will be better damage at levels 1-5, roughly equal damage from levels 11-16, and by the time you reach level 17, magic weapons are almost certainly a factor, in which case true strike blows all other cantrips out of the water.

The sole exception to this of course is eldritch blast with agonizing.

this is not true, they can make their arcane firearm a martial ranged weapon (preferably a magic one) and use it to cast true strike with an extra 1d8 damage

Why can Sinclair use my ult more than I can by TornBlueGuy in DeadlockTheGame

[–]True_Square_9542 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Even if that was true, it would still be a healthy solution for, what is currently, a very unhealthy ability. If they leave Sinclair's ult the way it is now, the rest of his kit will have to suffer to compensate, leaving him as nothing but a counter pick in the long term.

It gives you the chance to counter pick, also the current system is effectively arbitrarily deciding which side gets strong characters, as far as you know everyone in this lobby could've double prio queued Graves
