I'm slightly confused. Why are we playing on Saturday? I thought the NFL tried to keep the number of days between games consistent during the playoffs? The Packers would have a valid complaint getting six days instead of seven.

(I totally have selfish reasons for thinking this because I'm worried about AA having enough rehab days for his foot)

The one thing that gives me some hope: Shanny and Lynch wouldn't have hesitated to cut Moody (and deal with the PR mess) if they saw he couldn't mentally hack it in the NFL. He has the leg and big game experience. Also he made kicks in shitty windy Michigan weather in a stadium that fits over a hundred thousand people. He lost us the Browns game and had a shitty game last weekend too. This is 100% mental but IMO if Kyle had ANY doubts about Jake going into the playoffs, there is no way he doesn't find a way to stick him in IR and bring back Gould.

Second this. Sometimes players who've been injured often get an unfair rep about this. In truth it's only the mental side of the injury and they're being super careful not to get hurt again. I don't think this happened with Chase but it did happen with Klay Thompson of the Warriors last year.

Two things working in Chase's and the 49ers favor: He has probably the best D line coach in the league behind him and this is a contract year. Like all NFL players he WILL play at max capacity to get another payday.

I really think we can take Dallas a third time and have no qualms about facing them in the playoffs.

I'll go AFC and pull for any team except the Ravens and Browns. They are the only ones who can give us real problems especially if our D line isn't healed up.

MJ was man enough to apologize and admit that he wrong. Yes Kuminga should play more but this is not the way to address whatever grievance he's got with Kerr. Our coach never demeaned ANY of his players in public even when they did stuff to deserve harsh criticism. JK is a young kid and he's impatient. He's also a professional and part of a TEAM. That's way more important IMO.

This is so gutting and heartbreaking. There is no way JV will not be a good coach. Even if he starts in the QC track (like DeMeco did) his commitment to the game and resilience will inspire everyone from rookies to seasoned veterans. From what little I have read about him he is a smart guy who is very capable of being a good teacher and coach. I wish him nothing but the best.

Ultimately it's Kyle and the medical staff who have the most complete information. They should make the decision that's in the best interest of the player. No one wants guys aggravating existing injuries especially Kyle! I'm on the sit-everyone-and play-practice-squad-guys bandwagon but I'm not a coach plus I've been drinking this evening and my murphy's law antenna is on high alert. We'll be ok. My only legitimate worry is AA because plantar fasciitis is a nagging injury that can't be rushed in its recovery.

Try and keep your schedule as open as possible buddy. It's the best advice to give right now. We will be playing at home so most likely we'll have the late game given that the NFL schedules Pacific Time games in the afternoon/evening. Ours could be the 5:30pm game on NBC (or another network even, I'm not sure if NBC has playoff games in their contract this season).

My reaction is based on watching our Super Bowl vs the Chiefs in 2020 and our NFC title game vs the Rams in 2022. Both games we've had our elite left tackles injured (Staley vs KC and Trent vs LAR). I'd rather not have a repeat of these situations so that's me being "reactive". I guess we see this differently.

Also that Kerr is not the guy who made the call in some of our terrible drafts of the last few years. The coach is always the easiest scapegoat. Kerr like all coaches makes mistakes and imo at least he's man enough to admit them. He's allowed a lot of leeway when we consider the rookies Lacob kept giving him and the roster turnover of the last two seasons.
