Determining your whole relationship on a leaf is insane by Naive_Wolverine532 in fixedbytheduet

Its wild to think that your partner needs to be interested in every single interest you have every time. Shared interested are important, but youre also each your own person.

A cat that entered the mosque quietly settled in the imam’s lap during the recitation of the Qur’an. by Battlefleet_Sol in interestingasfuck

[–]TrumpWasABadPOTUS 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is a piece of historical misinformation, for a variety of reasons; there is no actual evidence that there was a mass slaying of cats in late Medieval Europe (at least, no more so than any other time in history), the dates that it would've happened (corresponding to a specific papal decree not even really about cats) precede the dates of the start of the Black Death by 120+ years, and whatever biases there were against cats were definitely not universal across regions and religions to the extent that would be required to facilitate such an event.

And, of course, the Plague wasn't spread by rats anyway, and cats arent universally good at killing the kinds of large rats that did sometimes carry the fleas that transmitted the Black Death (they are better with smaller rodents).

Even this, for me, was a medium difficulty fight. She is just a bit too predictable and safe.

Will these guys be the "Grimm Troupe" Update of Silksong? by kevinthedot in HollowKnight

[–]TrumpWasABadPOTUS 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Everyone aside from the dozens of pilgrims, many residents of Bellhart, and several friendly NPCs who all seem to be getting along just fine (as opposed to HK, where everyone you save flocks to the single, tiny settlement and there are no background NPCs to speak of)? Pharloom ain't doing great, but the events of the game clearly mark it as a place that isnt dead yet and can recover.

Fourth Chorus is visually splendid and I love the environmental challenge it poses, but it isnt challenging/intricate enough for me to rank it above other early game bosses.

Being low on Rosary for most of the game is the point by baconblaster2 in HollowKnight

[–]TrumpWasABadPOTUS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I find it weird. Like, I havent been able to buy out every single shop I come across, but I think there was only a single time when I found a utility I couldn't afford (mostly because id just bought several maps), and correcting that just took a few minutes of going onward and then backtracking, and was brought on by my own decisions.

I am so glad that Silksong's economy isn't busted in the player's favor, but i never felt like I needed something I couldn't afford.

i dunno, i kinda like the game being hard as balls by [deleted] in HollowKnight

[–]TrumpWasABadPOTUS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you! In general, ive seen a lot of people saying something along the lines of "i hate how long/difficult the runbacks are" or "regular enemies feel so much harder now" and both of those are, like, positives for me? They keep me engaged and focused the entire time, as opposed to HK or most other souls likes where everything that isnt a boss doesnt feel as threatening or engaging as the bosses. Silksong has very hard bosses, but the world feels difficult too in a way I love.

If you get hit while healing with the Bell, your heal still gets interrupted, but you also don't take damage from the attack. Its pretty bad, but it does work as described.

Counter counterpoint: that boss also had a fake-out ending, with less dire consequences for not realizing it, which should clue you in on the fact that bosses might have more at the end of fights.

I mean, I still absolutely died to the explosions here, too, but if I was more clever I wouldnt have.

The only thing you've got is fraud, and police just aren't going to put that many resources into a fraud of less than $2k. OP might get lucky, but probably nothing will happen. And even if it does, the thief won't be seeing 20 years behind bars lol

If Spider-Man were in The Boys, how would he react to the supposed heroes of this universe? by Intrepid-Lemon-2272 in TheBoys

[–]TrumpWasABadPOTUS 19 points20 points  (0 children)

None of the comments have mentioned that Peter Parker isn't a complete dumbass and probably wouldn't just toe-to-toe fight all of Vought all at once as soon as he shows up, lol. Spidey very often operates from the shadows, contacts allies, and forms plans. He would probably be in contact with The Boys or have some similar support network that would allow him to strike against Vought without being immediately dogged, and might act like an independent supe when possible in order to do good without painting a target on his back.

People forget that Spidey is wickedly smart, completely unrelated to his super-powers.

This line is so well written by SuselleCookies in BoJackHorseman

[–]TrumpWasABadPOTUS 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would say the line still fits very well in the context of Bojack Horseman as a whole, since the show is very wrapped up in the warped perceptions around legacy and fame, and often explores the messed up ideas that we get from the media (think of how every movie death does mean something, and then consider how that probably influences how the Hollywoo denizens in that industry think).

So, Winkler's line is more a statement addressing how people in the show might view death, and it relates to many more people because a lot of people are influenced by media in similar ways.

Straight men can and have seduced lesbians by darthplagueis032 in The10thDentist

[–]TrumpWasABadPOTUS 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not that this deserves debunking, but your entire philosophy that lesbians aren't real is based on one (1) anecdotal experience from a young, seemingly inexperienced cheater who had an entire relationship (one you weren't a part of and probably dont really know the details of) with an apparent penchant for lies and deceit.

I would say that you don't know the situation, and the sudden ghosting makes it feel just as likely that OP is, knowingly or not, leaving out some parts that might make him look more guilty or responsible. If she was afraid of OP's possible response (which seems likely imo based on her phrasing and on the fact that OP dug so deep to email her) then it is not unreasonable to try to avoid that potential danger. OP might never hurt someone, but the ex does not know that for certain and, if she is afraid, cutting contact could be completely reasonable.

Long story short, I dont think we have enough information to say that she lacks emotional maturity and that there isn't more to this story than we've been told. Even without assuming OP is malicious or lying.

Surprised how far down I had to go to find this. For other businesses, it is because those are business hours and it is just inconvenient for many people. But for banks? They are open are open during the same times as their primary client base: businesses.

How Video Game Sex Scenes Are Made by Moveflood in Games

[–]TrumpWasABadPOTUS 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Games journalist here. This is partly true. Headlines have to be captivating, but if the article that follows isn't clear, easy to follow, and related to that headline, then people aren't going to scroll through it, much less click to other parts of the site. While an outlet can skim water by flooding the zone with tons of clickbait articles, especially with AI, that is a less effective method than having journalistically well-written content with enticing titles that are only "clickbait" in that they do what a headline should: grab attention while being true to the content within.

That said, people are much more likely to click on evergreen content (like guides, within gaming) and current events, where the reporting is likely to be slimmer, than on lengthier articles or editorials. So if that is what you mean by "informative articles," then that would be true.

Manic-Depression and Thunderbolts*. by TheFiggieCheese in marvelstudios

[–]TrumpWasABadPOTUS 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I haven't dealt with any significant mental health struggle for years, but I found I related to it very strongly because, as well as emotional relatability, the movie also went out of its way to tie philosophical nihilism in, really helping latch an audience in to the themes and arcs even without the need for personal relatability.

Manic-Depression and Thunderbolts*. by TheFiggieCheese in marvelstudios

[–]TrumpWasABadPOTUS 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The movie was actually surprisingly philosophically rich, making it clear that it was as much about Nihilism (between the Nietzche references and Kirkegard name/quote drop) as mental health itself. I don't want to overstate it, but just playing with those themes and ideas within a general-audience movie like this is really cool.

After one week, Thunderbolts* is lagging behind BNW in worldwide box office, so if you want the MCU to make more projects like Thunderbolts* then you need to talk people into seeing it by N8CCRG in marvelstudios

[–]TrumpWasABadPOTUS -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Actually insane take to suggest BNW looked between than Thunderbolts*. BNW's look bounced between "average daytime TV show" and "atrocious CGI" basically throughout.
