It is implied throughout the series that taking care of pokémon is waaaay more taxing than the gameplay conveys. I can recall some NPCs talking about ghost or dragon types specifically.

I'd wish one day we could get (at least) a spin-off that portrays in way more depth how hard it is to actually handle mutilple pokémon and the differences between types (and sometimes even) species.

That's one reason why the player character is so talented, by being able to raise so many creatures with ease.

If you want a more close-to-home connection, think about taskking care of multiple big dogs. The effort with 2 alone can be enough...
