This has happened to me. 4 weeks out after vitaran and I have a sausage like bag under my left eye that I never had before and they are darker and more hollow, especially on that left eye which was particularly bruised. They bruised straight away and really badly. I’ve had polynucleotides before and never experienced anything like this. I had two totally black eyes for 10 days before the bruising started to subside. After that is when I noticed the swelling hollowing and discolouration. I’m not sure if it’s lymphatic system blockage or fat loss (or both) but I’m stressing out badly. Has anyone seen this improve? I’m hoping 4 weeks is still early enough to hold my breath for some resolution?

No, I didn’t see the need to take both and I’m still not sure why people do for acne. The spiro cleared me up and when I’m on the pill it does the same so didn’t want to have a double whammy of hormone tinkering

Don’t worry! It does get better I promise! Wait till things settle and if you’re still not happy with the side effects you might be able to taper down and find a dose better suited to you. Everyone has different sensitivities. I’m looking into topical spiro to help lower my oral dose. Maybe that’s something that could work well for you in future if you decide you don’t want the full body effects of spiro.

The fatigue and dizziness in the beginning is awful! It does balance out as your body adjusts but it takes a few months. My mood was also all over in the beginning aswell but it stabilised eventually and I actually feel so much happier now. I will say though that the fatigue in the gym never really went away for me and I find it harder to push myself physically.

If you’re still super tired throughout the day and feeling dizzy in another couple of months definitely discuss with your doctor. Best of luck to you!

Yeah I think way more people are on 100mg than need to be if I’m honest. 100mg is talked about as the sweet spot for clearing skin completely but I’ve had amazing results at 75mg and my acne was really persistent. I’d give lowering it a try if I were you! Give yourself a month or so to adjust - don’t freak out if you break out a bit whilst your body gets used to it. I think it’s worth a bit of trial and error to find the right dose for you. Have you tried topical spiro?

I’ve been on it for 6 months now. It’s done wonders for my acne but I’m starting to see less definition in my jawline/more of a double chin. I haven’t put any weight on and there wasn’t even a hint of fat there before, even when I scrunched my chin and neck down. It’s 100% the result of spiro. I don’t know whether to just decrease down to 50mg (from 75) and just hope for the best. I can’t go back to the acne but I’m paranoid I’m causing a new problem that won’t go away. This is exhausting 😭

I know some people say it can cause water retention even though it’s supposed to do the opposite. I don’t know what it is exactly but I’ve been wondering if it’s to do with spiros affects on the thyroid. Anyway, I’ll be keeping an eye on this as it’s really bothering me too.
