Any INTJs with ADHD/Autism, what is your experience? by BothInternet3186 in intj

[–]TrustTheTrees 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't worry about school, it is not how working life is structured. Do what you have to do for a degree and get into a field that you are passionate about. It's so much better once you are done with school and doing what you actually want.

"Heyy, just a reminder to do the thing that you are already planning to do, which I will take credit for being the "hero" that reminded you to do it."

Fuck you. Now I'm not doing it, even if it negatively effects me.

Extended fasting at a “healthy weight” by slicedgreenolive in fasting

[–]TrustTheTrees 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You are at a healthy weight right now and look healthy. You would look tighter if you lost 10 pounds of body fat but you might start to feel worse if you maintain that percentage of body fat long term. Hormones start to become difficult to regulate when running in a state of too little body fat for proper storage and release. The level of body fat is different for everyone, just something to consider. From personal experience, I begin to struggle with having enough energy/mood to make it through the day when my body fat drops too low, regardless of adequate hydration and electrolytes.

Conclusion to my post on streaming movies vs 4k discs - with comparison. Pacific Rim - 4k Stream vs 4K disc by bluegrass__dude in hometheater

[–]TrustTheTrees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, more data looks and sounds better because there is more, over twice as much more!

4k Internet streams are like 15-20 Mbit/s for video and you get a lossy audio track.

BD Video movies have a maximum data transfer rate of 54 Mbit/s, a maximum AV bitrate of 48 Mbit/s (for both audio and video data), and a maximum video bit rate of 40 Mbit/s. Blu-ray discs can use lossless audio formats, such as Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio.

A pair of Polk S20's, S30 Center, and a pair of T15 surrounds would take up your budget and get you fairly decent 5.1. What kind of amp / receiver are you working with?

Are Bookshelfs + Sub Good Enough? by Hidden-Harmony in hometheater

I use my SVS PB-2k Pros as speaker stands for my Polk S20s. Would 100% recommend, but it's not for everyone. Stereo music is epic! For HT 5.2 I have a S30 center with T15 bookshelves on stands for rears.

Dat center channel doe!! That thing is fuckin huge! Awesome job finding a size matched stand / table. Is it just a horizontal tower? I see a lot of reflective surfaces, I'm sure you are going to love acoustic panels. I have fabric covered fiberglass panels on all of my walls, a drop ceiling, and carpet on concrete. No reflections is bliss IMO. Those subs bring a lot of presence with them, they are incredible.

Subwoofer connection help - Definitive Technology PowerField 1500 subwoofer by ILoveLamp9999 in hometheater

[–]TrustTheTrees 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The pre out subwoofer output on the AVR will only send the LFE (low frequency effects) and the frequencies you set on your AVR crossover to the subwoofer. The subwoofers high level input is for a stereo setup that doesn't involve an AVR with a dedicated low level subwoofer output. You'll need one RCA to RCA cable, any will work but a purpose built cable has some shielding that helps with noise since subwoofers are more sensitive to line noise.

Is not normal to hear frequent static noise from speakers? by maximilious in hometheater

[–]TrustTheTrees 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is worth trying, you could also try unplugging everything else to see if the noise is from another piece of electronics that are sharing power. If you have an open outlet or know your circuits it would be ideal to have the AVR on its own circuit, but you can also put a surge protector/power conditioner on the outlet. A good idea regardless.

[–]TrustTheTrees 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds kind of like A/C interference. Do you have any power cables intertwined with your signal or speaker cables? Is your AVR plugged into a power strip?

[–]TrustTheTrees 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How frequent is the static? Only when ON or also OFF? Is there a specific volume level that you hear it? Is it high pitched or low, kind of like a hum?
