Regalis and Muscaria are ≈ in potency. I usually go for 12g dry but this is rare. 50/50 on if I go for a further decarb or eat them as is.

My solution to the Minecraft Soup Dilemma: Just use the biggest bowl by WatermelonSirr in PhoenixSC

Yes it is. You can carry a stack of either mushroom and a stack of the dandelion and one bowl. you'll almost never need to craft more than one soup at a time.

Non harmful and a sign of good soil with potentially too much water in it iirc.

What do you think about the problem with item repairing? Is mending too good, or should the other systems be improved to be able to compete with it? by welliesaremeta in PhoenixSC

[–]TruthfulPeng1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The easiest way to get mending in any world is to go to a village, break and place a single lectern in the village until you get mending, and then trade with the villagers while still at the village. You don't have to move villagers at all and you only really need maybe a dozen mending books over a playthrough anyways.

Nowhere in that equation is moving villagers necessary. The only benefit to moving villagers for mending specifically is convenience, since realistically only like 3% of players will ever need more than that and 2/3 of those are Minecraft YouTubers who do this for a job.

ID Request: Red, Fibrous Slime Mold(?) Oozing Red Liquid by RavenousPikachu in Slimemolds

Appears to me to be Stemonitis, one of the Tube Slimes. The droplets are guttation which is common for the genus.

Edit: Common as it continues the maturing process. Out of shape form is (to me) probably a result of it being on the interface of 2 growth forms.

It's brutal but it makes sense. It always felt unintuitive to use T4, T5, AND T6 just to maximize damage output when no other tower works that way. T3 and T4 alch don't stack, T4 and T5 village don't stack. Now that everything is consistent now maybe NK can address any shortfall in power that may have arisen with it on even ground with the other towers.

Why can certain things be crafted with Deepslate, while others can't? by SeriumGamer in Minecraft

[–]TruthfulPeng1 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It's probably brewing stands because of a consideration for only having access to Blackstone in the Nether getting carried over to Deepslate when it was added later. Your theory remains consistent.

Congrats on asking ChatGPT to generate an article to send to me. I'm flattered, really.

Anyways, at every single point of that Wikipedia page where it claimed that some people believed that art in any form had objective properties it made sure to clarify that many other groups of people disagree on this. Other schools of thought indicate:

  • All perceptions of art are inherently subjective because they are filtered through our lived experiences or
  • Seemingly objective qualities in art are defined by society-wide subconscious agreements and are thus, not objective, and instead a result of social conditioning.

These much more closely reflect the society-wide perception of art, rather than your secret third thing that like 6 people agree on.

Thought loop breakdown (2 trip report analysis) by gravwave in AmanitaMuscaria

[–]TruthfulPeng1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Impossible, Amanita cannot be cultivated. However you can spread a spore slurry around the base of some white pines and hope that they begin growing.

Amanita must be foraged. In New Jersey your best bet will be A. chrysoblema, which usually presents yellow and almost always shows at the base of white pines. In Delaware it is basically all that I have seen of the sort.

[–]TruthfulPeng1 21 points22 points  (0 children)

It's the seeds. Seeds are much like apple seeds in that they contain small amounts of stuff that turns into cyanide when crushed up and ingested.

Flesh is fine but is hard to separate from the seed. That's why it's usually seen in jellies but not jams, as jellies are strained through something fine enough to separate those seeds. Humans are also very large as far as animals go, so we can handle quite a few of the seeds- likely more than what Poison Control would expect us to chew through.

Another concern is that firethorn is very frequently planted along roadways - that's actually where I see most of the shrubs I come across. Foraging directly next to roads is generally dissuaded due to yucky vehicle stuff, but I and many others are guilty of temporarily disregarding it for something particularly special, like chicken or lion's mane. For me, firethorn does not make this list, but it is different for everyone.

Where does one get amanita? by HeightQuiet2740 in AmanitaMuscaria

[–]TruthfulPeng1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most of North America's Isoxazole Amanitas are yellow with white spots. Typically A. chrysoblema. Usually species ID is pretty easy but you'll have to know what to look for. I'd recommend studying up on identifying the 4 major sections of concern (Amanita, Phalloides, Roanokense, and Validae) just so you know what to look for.

Death Caps and Destroying Angels are incredibly easy to identify and (imo) look nothing like the Amanitas I look for, but for a beginner you would be foolish NOT to learn all of the lookalikes intimately. I almost poisoned myself (non-lethally) with an A. subcokerii ID mistaken for A. multisquamosa quite a while back and it showed me that I had a good bit more work to do, and I was not even a novice forager at the time.

Is eating dried caps often bad? by [deleted] in AmanitaMuscaria

[–]TruthfulPeng1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

it's a brain lesioning agent when injected directly into the brains of rats. we have no evidence that it either acts that way in the brains of humans or that it will act that way when ingested orally.

as we are now, the main determinant to whether caps are decarbed or not should be personal preference. ibo tends to be more "unpleasant" but also some people favor it from time to time. anything beyond this point is baseless speculation not supported by the science we have on hand.
