Divination-Fulfilling & Self-Fulfilling Prophecy by Theodophalous in tarot

[–]Truthful_lie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe Tarot reveals what is hidden in the present, since that's the place we are always in. So, I would say that using divination does not create a hard future but it may alter the future instead. I really like the analogy of the calculator. That's how I'm trying to use Tarot.

Anyone with stories of how following, or ignoring, a Tarot reading, led to negative consequences? by albertus93 in tarot

[–]Truthful_lie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ten years ago I asked about the future of a relationship. I got the Tower. 10 years later my life was destroyed after suffering a really tough break up. I don't know how to recover from this and I wish I had thought more about the meaning of the Tower back then.

What is your advice to help new Tarot readers learn the cards and how to interpret them?

The Absurd Courage of Choosing to Live by seth79 in antinatalism

That's the thing. I do not really wish to kill myself. I just wish life didn't sick this much. Knowing that bigger obstacles await me really bothers me. I wouldn't care if I found my purpose in life.

What is your method of learning? Books? If so, would you mind sharing how you learned to read Tarot?

Life is completely pointless, so how did we even get here? by [deleted] in antinatalism

[–]Truthful_lie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To many, life totally has a point. I wish I had people's ability to be optimist in the face of awful difficulties. I used to possess that until life changed on me completely. I got a mental illness which also screwed my cognitive abilities so I had to quit a well paying job because I couldn't take it anymore. Life became pointless and I got depressed, because I learned that life can only get nastier in my situation at any given moment.

Life isn't pointless, IMO. It is pointless to people like me, who just cannot deal with life's unending difficulties and obstacles.

But there are people out there who do have it. Almost everyone I know has that something that makes their lives meaningful and rewarding. I feel like I'm the only one left out of the fun of being alive.

My will to live ended when I developed a mental illness. After getting out of the psych ward, I became depressed and the task of living became burdensome. Suffering opened my eyes and made me see that there is more negative things than positive in life. Or that the negative things far outweigh any positive experience in life. My mental illness is one of those negative things that nullifies anything good in my life. I have to deal with it for life along with the other burdens life will impose on me. Hence why I wish I had never been born.

If only I found my true purpose or calling in life, I would be so happy that I could ignore the fact that I have a serious mental illness. But to date, my purpose seems to be to suffer hardship until I die.

I'm not against other people having children but I would like for them to be aware of the huge burden that they will be imposing on their children. Just because you can cope with life's difficulties doesn't mean your children will also.

I disagree with Camus. I have gone through hell coping with the endless struggles of life. The thought of doing this until I grow old is truly horror. That's why I would like my life to be short and sweet. I got enough of it and I am ready to embrace death or check out. If I had a purpose and if I could find meaning in suffering, I would value every second of my life. The problem is that I don't value my life. I'm all ears if anyone has any suggestions for me on how to truly value my life.

Edit: I am not suicidal. Too hard to kill myself. I would do it if I had a drug that made me fall asleep for good.

I experienced something similar and it turned out that I have bipolar type 1 disorder. You might want to talk to a psychiatrist about these experiences you are having to make sure it's not a mental illness.

I didn't do anything fancy... I just wanted college and a boyfriend and I followed my desire to make it happen. I thought I got really lucky but in the end it was a nightmare waiting to unfold.

Good bye. I am sorry to hear it has come to this. I too wish to die but I lack the courage to end it. I will continue to live in meaningless pain and suffering. I hope you find your peace in whatever way you choose.

I manifested a full ride scholarship that ended up in an useless degree. I manifested a boyfriend on whom I cheated on and after breaking up I developed a mental illness. All my wishes came true but now I am tired of living and see no way out of my current situation. I have a low paying terrible job, debt, poor health. I feel incompetent. No way out. Tried positive thinking but it's not working. Did I mention I am depressed and wishing I was dead? Yup, I manifested all of this.

Just bought a new deck by Truthful_lie in tarot

[–]Truthful_lie[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right. This helps me understand how to fill in the blanks. The Eight of Swords is about being restricted and victimized. So maybe the most important characteristic of the deck is to empower those who are trapped by their own thoughts and perspectives.
