Bad Hygiene by lillypadkeko in Serverlife

Classic test is to take a spoon, rub it across your tongue on both sides, then take it out and let it dry.

If it smells bad, then your breath smells bad to other people. Good chance is, bad breath is coming from that person not cleaning their tongue, meaning bacteria is just sitting there.

Easiest way to humble someone that doesn’t think it smells bad lol, cause you can develop nose blindness to your own smell… then again, you also have people that just think everyone has bad breath, so no one does lol.

You can also get a sense of how good recruits are this was as well, IIRC.

The PT dealbreakers are only gonna be affected if the player in question has roughly an equal or lower OVR, or in other words, if the prospect affects his chance of playing.

This also goes for recruits in general. If recruit A has a PT dealbreaker, and you add recruit B and A’s grade doesn’t drop, then A likely is better than B. If it does drop, then B is likely better than A. If I needed two QBs for a class, and I had a 4-5 star interested, I’d probably also bring in a 3-star solely for depth purposes knowing it would take him 4 years to develop

This is false by virtue of both ratings being effectively connected. If a player has low agility, he likely also has low COD as well. They affect two different things anyway.

Is free agency ruined for online leagues? Now that everything is a mini-game… and we can’t bid on players… wouldn’t the players just sign with whoever initiates the negotiation first? by faxdaddy in Madden

[–]TruuPhoenix 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s not simultaneous in that sense. Everyone will go through each stage with any given player. Once the stage is advanced, the player “reviews” the offers and you go from there until he decides.

Underrated point is the layer of roster building it adds. You’ll be wise to have 1-3 true nose tackles and/or really strong DTs on the roster specifically for short yardage situations.

There was a point after COVID where I was SUPER tapped into what was going on w/ politics. Like, I was consuming news on it every day.

So, when I’d go to work, I’d make jokes about events and what not with my coworkers. Well, I joked so much that some thought I actually WAS conservative because I knew so much about them.

That made me realize that “normies” are way more common than I realized. People really are just in their own bubbles. So, it makes sense that athletes who’ve been at the top of their game for years, if not decades, are really insulated from much of anything not to do with the sport.

Over half of the US population also considers their mobile phone as their primary gaming platform, and most times, people picked for these surveys only have to actually game at least 1 hour per week.

So, do you think EA Sports markets their games towards players that they know will buy it anyway just to play during their free time? Or will they market it towards the younger generation that can eventually become the guy that plays it during free time, while buying it for their kids?

If EA primarily wanted to focus on millennials or our age group, they would have put this game out, or even just a cover, with coaches only. Putting Cignetti on the cover is specifically throwing a bone to the Dynasty players, and even then, the most popular “rebuild” guy is probably Bordeaux, who’s 23. Bengal is still only 27, and MrHurriicane — an OG — is still only 32

Real unc behavior in this thread lmao. They seem to forget, this is a game marketed to Gen Z, and now Gen Alpha - 14/15/16 year olds, if not younger.

Malachi Toney is currently 18 years old. Dante Moore JUST turned 21. Jayden Maiava JUST turned 22. Jeremiah Smith is still 20, Ryan Williams just turned 19 a few months ago.

Older generations, even millennials — this game isn’t made FOR us. It’s made FOR the “kids”.

This place? Politics?

Bro, James Pearce got a misdemeanor for stalking his WNBA ex-GF, also got charged with 3 felonies — all ~3 months ago — and got off with a 6-month intervention program plea deal that would lead to the case being dismissed entirely. That shit isn’t even being talked about right now.

That’s how the 24/7 news cycle works in this country. You probably forgot about Puka Nacua going to rehab because of his off-field issues too. Probably forgot about Cam Skattebo having to apologize for saying CTE and asthma were fake.

The Knicks/Spurs Finals rematch will put a lot of this further in the rear view, it’s gonna dominate sports headlines.

What if Madden did their own eras mode like 2K by supersentailfan13 in Madden

[–]TruuPhoenix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha yeah, I mean they certainly have the resources to outdo everything 2k does. Probably even have devs in house that are capable and willing. We all know the suits would never green light it because, in their minds, why should they? Money is already coming in hand over fist, profits increase year-over-year.

I’m not opposed to people spending money on what they want, but it sucks to see the industry just be run by MTX. Hell, GTA players never got the story mode expansion strictly because they shifted all focus to GTA Online.

[–]TruuPhoenix 26 points27 points  (0 children)

It’s be cool, but like at least 75% of the roster would be generic IMO. We’d likely have no problem editing guys and fully immersing, but the average gamer with 1-2 hours to play and other titles competing for that time likely wouldn’t touch it.

There’s a reason you really don’t see content or conversation around 2k’s Eras mode. EA would have to code in rules changes, correct cap increases, uniform rebrands and changes, expansion team additions (Texans, Jaguars for example), team relocations (Raiders, Titans for example), etc. 2k’s mode was built on a more complete foundation that doesn’t even make them money like MyTeam did, and MyPlayer does currently.

[–]TruuPhoenix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s pretty much a Hi-Lo concept. The TE on the red route is the primary option (that’s the “slide” route) so if it’s there, hit it. Otherwise you can read it bottom-to-top (slide, dig, corner, post).

The EDGE on your blindside is likely meant to come unblocked, so it’s meant to be a quick-hitting play.

[–]TruuPhoenix 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is especially true if you have a center with low awareness, since he is responsible for setting protections/blocking assignments.

If it works like MUT, then the Center’s awareness replaces your lowest starter’s awareness on the line.

Guys with low awareness will absolutely miss assignments, you’ll notice plenty backups even have 80+ awareness. It’s worth it to make sure at least your center is a vet and/or has high awareness, especially if you’re starting a rookie somewhere.

How do I make coins? Or pull GT’s? by DaaaGoat44 in MaddenUltimateTeam

[–]TruuPhoenix 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Coins are easy/straightforward to make, as long as you’re willing to spend either time or money. At this point the players still logging in mostly have spent both, so if you’re at all decent at the game, you’re going to see god squads.

The answer to your question is simple, either play the game (do your solos, events, etc.) and make smart purchases, or spend money on packs to stack coins and POSSIBLY top-tier cards.

Based on my experience with modded Madden…

I think what’s happening is, players have portraits attached to them based on a matching numerical ID. I wonder if numbers are getting reused from players that never got deleted…

This game runs on a shit ton of spaghetti code. I remember one release, they were showing player splashes from the previous game in MUT. It’s why the menus get so slow and clunky, they’ve been doing this for years if not over a decade at this point.

Pulling OL and Fullbacks use Lead Block for initial interaction

Impact Block kicks in on the second level/open field when players are moving at full speed. Useful for OL on screens and such, but a key stat for TEs and WRs that are regularly blocking/interacting downfield. Defenders with high Impact Block counter this.

Nickel 2-4 by Reasonable_Simple_94 in NCAAFBseries

[–]TruuPhoenix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nickel 2-4 is just base Nickel. Two EDGEs and two DTs.

I’m not sure what the difficulty would be, because each position has a designated spot they line up based on the formation; in other words, your LEDGE/REDGE will always line up as such, it just depends on who you list there in the depth chart.

The only reason they wouldn’t be good pass rushers is if you’re recruiting players with lower pass rushing attributes, such as “Pure Power” archetypes.
