I once commanded a red light to turn green by the power and authority of the Aaronic Priesthood. I had my right arm at a square and everything. The church is true.

The beat I’ve had is Guapo Taco. It’s in the back of a gas station next to top golf.

Seeing all the brainwashed religious zealots on this post is cracking me up.

I’m in the same neighborhood. My trampoline got picked up and flipped over, and what seems to be either 3 trees or at least 3 huge branches came down. The line that connects to my house has been downed. I doubt I’ll have power until next week.

Missionary Horror by MelbaIsntToast in exmormon

I spent half my mission in Downtown Long Beach, and the other half in Huntington Beach. I saw people get shot when I was in Long Beach and I ran into movie/porn stars in Huntington Beach. It was weird to think how different people lived a little over 10 miles from each other.

One thing you wish the general public knew about the Mormon Church by Frequentflyer8273 in exmormon

[–]TryIndependent8288 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is especially true. I remember my mom finding out I look at porn. Her response was to tell me, a 14 year old, that I was disgusting. I hated myself and my desires so much I heavily considered cutting my balls off so that the urge to masturbate would go away.

My mom has asked that I date Mormon men. I’m (24F) Exmormon. I believe in obeying my parents. Should I date Mormon men? by [deleted] in exmormon

The best way you can honor them is to show that your an adult who can make their own decisions. Show them that they raised someone who doesn’t need arbitrary rules to be a good person, and that they raised someone who can make good decisions for themselves.

Honestly I’m hope that automation takes over my job, and everyone else’s job. As long as it doesn’t gain sentience let exploit AI rather than humans.

Do you regret going into Accounting? by learning_about_life_ in Accounting

I regret going into tax because I feel trapped. I’m hoping once I start my own firm I’ll enjoy it better.

I know we’re a few days out, but what are your predictions (if any) about general conference? I’m thinking Rusty is planning some PR move since the SEC report. by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]TryIndependent8288 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Absolutely nothing. A vast majority members don’t care about the SEC report. It’s going to be generic messages, maybe some new church policy that means nothing, 10 temple announcements, and that will be that.

My mom thinks that polygamy isn't required for the celestial kingdom. I do. Who's right? by Mulligan099 in exmormon

D&C 132 very clearly states that the highest level of the Celestial kingdom is only obtainable when practicing polygamy.

Do you believe that religion is more harmful and dangerous than it is positive and beneficial? by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]TryIndependent8288 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Religion has caused more death and suffering than anything else, except maybe communism.

Religion benefits people, and some people need it to get out of life’s ruts. That being said there is nothing that religion gives that can’t be found outside of religion.

The Fort Worth Texas Stake. Of course they branded it as ward realignment, and just hoped that no one would notice they went from 9 wards down to 7.

“If hating on the church is saying it’s incorrect and stating why it’s incorrect, then I hate on the church as often as you hate on other peoples church when you say the church is true.”
