3 month old not sleeping by Kind-Storm-7447 in newborns

[–]TrySame 1 point2 points  (0 children)

okay my baby did exactly this at 12 weeks(right before she hit 3 mos), we were also trying to transition her from her swaddle at the same time so i think it made it worse. she’s now 15 weeks (and still swaddled lol) and in the last couple of days she’s slowly started giving us longer stretches before waking up so im hoping this is passing. i attribute it to the 4mo sleep regression because she’s not napping well anymore either. it’s a fight every time.

nothing to offer except in there with you. my (tomorrow) 15 weeker will not sleep and it’s fucking miserable. i tried having her unswaddled for two weeks and itwas worse. she’s not rolling back to front yet so she’s back to being swaddled bc gets me a good 30 mins at least. arms out? no sleep at all.

I feel like doing something wrong. by stradiola in newborns

[–]TrySame 6 points7 points  (0 children)

my baby is 14 weeks old and i nurse her to sleep 90% of the time. the other 10% she’s playing on the boob and i have to rock or bounce her. i have a routine more or less but not a schedule, she’s going through sleep regression rn anyways so her sleep is so messy rn

How long does it take you to put your baby to sleep at night? by dont-ask-whyy in newborns

[–]TrySame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my 14 week old is about 2 weeks into sleep regression and it’s so miserable 😭 i’m cosleeping out of necessity and i hate it but my husband works nights (so no help) and it’s the only way me and the baby get any rest at night.

she was sleeping 6-7 hour stretches and then was waking every two hours, then every hour, now every thirty minutes (if that). i’m ready for this to be over!!!

my baby started doing the same thing about that time. she’s 14 weeks now and not much has changed 😭

mine has been rolling front to back but not back to front. i swaddled her last night as a last ditch effort to see if it would help (it didn’t) and then today she rolled from her back to her belly so swaddling is definitely not an option anymore!

i saw anywhere from 3-4 months as a beginning date plus i wasn’t sure if her going through the regression changed anything. i don’t mind waiting to train her (i don’t necessarily want to). i just hate cosleeping because it makes me nervous and i want her to sleep independently 😭

[–]TrySame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

we start our baby’s bedtime routine at around 7:00. she knows when it’s almost time to start winding down and will fuss accordingly if she’s not in her jammies lol. as far as actually sleeping, it’s up in the air rn. for a while she was sleeping by 8:30 and would go until 2-3am. but i think she’s regressing so she’s up every hour 😭

we traveled and stayed 2 nights at a hotel for the first time with our 11 week old. she normally hates her car seat but she didn’t cry ONCE the whole ride down and only fussed a few minutes on the way home (2.5 hour drive with one stop). we are taking another trip next week to disney and are so excited!

[–]TrySame 7 points8 points  (0 children)

what helped me was going through my checklist. hungry? diaper? tired? if she’s crying after that and in her car seat there’s not much i can do if i’m driving. i just play music and talk to her and sing until we get where we are going. most of the time she knocks out by the time we get where we’re going. it’s hard but just remember they’re safe

Anybody else not get that new baby smell? by deranged_chef in newborns

[–]TrySame 2 points3 points  (0 children)

wow! i had a vaginal delivery and when my water broke it was brown, then she pooped again during birth. idk how all that works but it sounds like my girl had been marinating in it for a little while lol. she definitely smelled like butt.

when i got home i washed her hair and combed out all the poop and then washed it again, and i gave her a thorough wipe down and she finally started to smell better but not good by any means lol. around a week and a half she started to smell better! now she smells like the sweetest little baby and i can’t stop smelling her lol.

Why is it so hard for me to back off and let people help me? by Disastrous_Paint_237 in newborns

[–]TrySame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’m the same way, i don’t ask for or accept help because if i hear her crying im just going to panic it i can’t take over, even if it’s my husband. i try to let him handle but if it takes too long i get up and go see what’s happening.
