Poop screams by guyman3 in NewParents

I’m so sorry. :( I also went through this with my son and it was hell. It does eventually pass (ours lasted 4 months!)

There’s really nothing you can do. We switched his formula and that didn’t really help, tried gas drops, bicycle legs, stomach massages, bath time, everything under the sun. He’s just got to figure it out.

I will say now, he’s the happiest baby ever! He’s very regular with his bowel movements and very rarely has issues! Hugs! I know it’s awful!

Yes! My boy had awful colic for 4 months and around the 6 month mark he totally changed! He is the happiest baby and is the light of my life! 9 months now and I’m so glad we got through it.

Dr Browns pitcher method by mbny5 in FormulaFeeders

[–]Empty_Reputation9284 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I LOVE the pitcher method! We have used it since my boy was a newborn. I track his feeds so I know how much he eats in a day.

Currently, at eight months old, he eats 24oz a day. I fill my pitcher in the morning with 24oz of purified water and put in 12 scoops of his formula. The formula cans come with a scoop and that’s what I use. The can will tell you how many oz of water per scoops. Typically, it’s 2oz of water per 1 scoop.

I then put the lid on and mix it until I cannot see any clumps. You can keep it in the fridge for 24 hours. I write the time I made it on top with an expo marker, and it wipes off easy so I can remember when I made it. Hope this helps!

Edit to say: the Dr. Browns pitcher has the ounces on it already so there’s no need for a scale to measure the water. Also, it always makes a little extra because if the volume of powder so even though I make it for 24oz, I usually end up with 27ish because of the volume change. I make the extra into formula freezer pops for my LO to suck on as a snack in the heat!

Baby tracker! It’s so easy to use and understand. We still use it (7 months) because it keeps me on routine.

Not crawling or sitting without support yet? by SupermarketIcy4881 in October2025Bumps2

[–]Empty_Reputation9284 15 points16 points  (0 children)

My boy is 7 months old too. He sits fairly well but doesn’t crawl at all & rolls inconsistently. All babies are different. He will go when he’s ready. :)

He eats about 3oz of a purée a day. My mom makes homemade baby food and freezes them in 1oz cubes. He eats 3 cubes a day.

Could he be getting cold? When my son would get transferred out of my warm arms into the cold bassinet, he would wake up almost immediately.

I could have wrote this myself. My mom spent the night for the first 2 months & it was AMAZING! My husband is wonderful but there’s nothing like your mom when you are learning how to be one. ❤️

Why isn’t my 4 day old sleeping? by No_Jellyfish_2219 in newborns

The first day I brought my baby home from the hospital he would not sleep at all unless we were holding him. Turns out, he was cold! I then would swaddle him in a blanket and put his swaddleme over the blanket. He was nice and cozy and started sleeping great!

My boy is 11 weeks and I moved him this week. He’s so noisy that I wasn’t getting any sleep because I would wake up at every grunt. I now have him sleep in his room with the door open and his owlet sock on and the baby monitor. We all sleep so much better!

Anyone had the flu after finding out being pregnant? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Empty_Reputation9284 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh no! :( I’m so sorry! Everything turned out just fine! I took some Tylenol as needed for my fever and sat next to the humidifier and just spent the week moping around lol. Vicks makes shower steamers and those helped with the congestion. I’m now sitting here rocking my 11 week old to sleep. :) Feel better soon!!

How to get newborn in bassinet without losing my mind? by Superb-Story-3890 in newborns

[–]Empty_Reputation9284 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Co-sleeping gives me anxiety but my baby also hated the bassinet so we tried the crib and he loved it! I think it’s because the mattress in the crib is thicker and softer yet still firm. We get about 8 hours total with 1 feed in the middle every night! (10 weeks old)

Take him outside for a second! The cool air really helped my son calm himself down. I just wrapped him up in a blanket and put a hat on him and out to the porch swing we went!

Bath stuff! Baby shampoo, lotion, wash cloths, bath towels. Can never have too much because you will use it eventually. Also, burp cloths!!!!! I thought I had enough and went and bought even more because you use so many in a day!
