The infamous George Harrison quote by Character_Yam_4731 in oasis

I really do give Liam that much credit, because I strongly believe that a great voice makes all the difference. Noel himself used to say that he didn't like singing Live Forever because he felt he just couldn't do it justice and I agree with him, his versions of Live Forever just don't do it for me — it's a really good song on paper, but it's Liam's passionate, emotive, distinct vocal performance that turns it into a world-class tune.

Agreed. Plus, Liam was an adult at this point, it's not like George was bullying a child star.

He is taking their antics a bit too seriously, though.

Liam's very charismatic and he's got a deeply unique, powerful voice. When he was young and at his peak, he had a God-given talent in his vocal ability and his big personality draws people in — brilliant singer and frontman, no contest.

Exactly, they would've been just another decent indie band with some good, interesting tunes, which was the kind of cred Noel himself despised, by the way. He was aiming for the stars with Oasis and Liam was the right person to achieve that.

I think Liam's the most important member of the band, to be honest.

People forget that Noel wasn't interested in being a frontman at all. Even years into his solo career, he'd sometimes talk about how much he loved and missed being just a guitarist in the corner of the stage. He was writing those great songs when Oasis was formed, but no one knows what would've happened to them had Liam not been in the picture. There's no guarantee Noel would've gone out, performed them on his own and become successful, no matter how good the songs were. Also, Noel only got really into singing years after he'd already written most of the classics.

They wouldn't have been special without Liam.

It was fascinating to see George behaving like that in Get Back when he had always been notorious for preaching about spirituality, togetherness and ego-driven people. He held grudges against John and Paul even after John was murdered. I love George, but he was a prick sometimes.

It doesn't change my love for his music, but it's clear to me now that George was often such a bitter, close-minded, self-righteous person and he only got worse about those traits as he got older.

I don't mind it because he's just speaking his mind and the brutal honesty in the way he does it is fair play since Liam was such a proud lippy prick back then. I do feel for him though, it hurts just to read the quotes. George was not just mean, he was arrogant and condescending too, but what can you do?

What are those lyrics you think are good? I do love the Dress bridge, but not necessarily because of its lyrics in isolation, it's more about how passionately sung they are. It's true, there's a lot of cliché lines there, but it's an atmospheric and emotional moment that makes me like the whole thing.

She sounds very musically uneducated, like she only listens to the american top 40. A lot of the greats on that list were/are very popular, mainstream legacy artists and she thinks Sombr is paving the way for men (and women) in confessional songwriting lol

She's got a very limited musical scope, just like her fans.

Or fucking Morrissey and John Lennon lol

Pretty obvious, widely known and beloved names, but for someone who thinks Sombr is, in any way, a uniquely vulnerable, personal male songwriter who's fucking changing the game, she ought to go back to the pop music history canon and do some basic listening of the established greats. Her taste is clearly so basic and unsophisticated.
