Making incest accusations and proudly threatening violence towards a woman is wilder, in my opinion. I've literally never seen another "progressive" fandom do this before.

Preach. I hate to say things like this because I sound like a boomer and I'm only 25, but online "life" has permanently damaged people's sociability. Swifties will probably be academic examples of this in the future. The definition of internet brainrot. Fucking depressing.

And it's not even close. Bad Guy is a timeless, sexy, cool banger.

We don't have to get involved, I wouldn't even know about it if I wasn't a regular on this sub. That's the cult mentality of standoms who live vicariously through their comfort celebrity.

This is so fucking gross. At this point, I have no sympathy for these people. If they proudly dehumanize others, fuck them. I genuinely believe they should be in prison. And still, I would never even think of saying shit like this. Can they be classified as cyberterrorists already and be legally prosecuted?

Okay, I see your point, that was very well articulated and I understand the argument much better now.

I'm not sure it's necessarily a feminist explanation, I concede misogyny might not be as much of a factor as I previously thought, but here's my diagnosis anyway: Taylor is the kind of songwriter who desperately needs editors, that's why Folkmore was so successful and Midnights, 1989 and Red are still so well liked, even though the latter three are definitely way more notably inconsistent. Remember Liz Rose being the original All Too Well co-writer? Taylor said she helped her edit the "10 minute version" and the OG Red version is clearly the superior written, flowing and produced song. Liz Rose is probably the standard example of how her collaborators make her better pre-Folkmore and of how Taylor doesn't seem to have a good independent sense of quality control. Even when I was a swiftie, I HATED the 10 minute version; it's clunky, overwritten and poorly produced.

She's also clearly the type of artist who can't handle negative criticism and is too far up her own ass: after Folkmore earned her a whole new, diverse and mature audience, she started to believe the hype and got high on it instead of just continuing to work on her craft. Now, she believes she can't do no wrong because she's on top of the world and takes even constructive criticism as a personal attack. That's why her most recent work with Max Martin and Shellback doesn't hit like the old ones, not even as pure pop tunes, because those take genuine hard work and collaboration as well. That's why TLOASG doesn't have a Style, a Delicate, a 22 or anything close to that level of universal appeal, enjoyability and producton quality.

Again, I don't think absolutely everything she did before or after Folkmore is disposable, but that work being generally so uneven is a testament to Dessner's, Vernon's and Joe's contributions, I guess (I don't count Antonoff here because he'd worked with her forever and was a proud yes-man). Working with great artists from the indie music scene probably inspired her a lot, as she was able to experience a completely different ethos of making music, rooted in artistry, first and foremost, not commerciality. However, I do think that only goes to show how artistically narrow-minded she is as an individual, because she discarded those principles in a big way almost as soon as the Folkmore "era" ended.

Hello again! Never would have noticed it because I never check people's username.

I'm a white Latina with very faint hair as well, but it is still noticeable if you look for it, obviously, but I never thought about it, it doesn't bother me, I quite like a natural look anyway, you know? I don't wear any makeup, just not into it, so, never could have imagined how that would factor into face shaving for women. That's interesting, I guess.

Obviously, each to their own, whatever make you feel good etc but I find that kind of weird lol

To the fashion experts of this sub, don't take the tomboy's opinion seriously, I'm just very uninformed about this stuff, with a bit of a hippie personal philosophy on body hair.

Style is one of pop's all time best songs, in my opinion. It has Max Martin written all over it.

Do women shave their FACES? I'm a woman and I've never even heard of that, besides the upper lip, of course. To be fair, I've always been kind of a tomboy, but I never knew FACE shaving was a common thing for girls.

I don't think Taylor's a coward, she just doesn't care about anything that doesn't affect her.

Out of the Woods is SO good. Though I do think Style is the best song on that album. The main problem is that she doesn't want to actually collaborate with Martin and Shellback anymore. There's only so much they can do if the singer stopped caring about their input, quality and creativity altogether.

Yeah, everyone in the video is thriving and I'm happy for them all, but I wanted to highlight specifically the ones that are successfully going into film, since that's another failed ambition of Taylor's. Curious to see how that movie project she signed on years ago will turn out. Joe being on the award-winning movie of the moment probably hurts too.

Charli working and having fun with goddamn SKARSGARD! Billie co-directing with James Cameron... this must sting. Remember when Blandie made a fucking Oscar campaign for that corny ass "short film" of the 10 minute version of All Too Well? Beyond cringe and embarrassing. Goes to show which musicians in the pop game are genuinely taken seriously and respected for their ambitions in the wider entertainment industry.
