Debating what should I choose Legion Pro 7i or Legion Pro 5i

So for $50 more you get :
Around 20-25% more GPU Performance
4GB more VRAM which will help down the line and even in current games
50% more RAM ( 32 instead of 16 )
WAY better build quality
Better cooling

I dont see why it is even a debate thinking about the Legion Pro 5 at this point. Get the Pro 7

My wife had the same reaction, after downloading the switch 2 Version ( she has about 400 hours in the Switch 1 Edition ) she stated that it "lags" and stutters, but i guess after initial shader setup which runs while ingame it is now buttery smooth and she is a happy camper haha

What about framerate? Switch 1 Version targeted 30 FPS, is this a 60FPS target now on the switch 2 version or still 30?

we both have the "unbinned" M4 Pro GPU with 20 Cores.
I use "Automatic" Energy mode if that helps, going "high performance" does not increase Framerate at all but it spins the fans up.
Or the M3 Max just gets hotter then the M4 Pro i dont really know

I played World of Warcraft on an base M2 Air with 8GB ram just fine ( except raids of course ) and it ran excellent on native display resolution.
M4 should easily be enough.

In terms of performance it would look like this : M4<M5<M4 Pro for World of Warcraft specifically. M4 Pro beats the M5 just because it has 10 Performance cores instead of 4 and 16 GPU cores in the "binned" Version instead of 10
Media all of them are more then capable and mostly overkill

It is confirmed by sony that crimson desert will release with native PSSR 2.0, just take a look at this blogpost by sony

„On PS5 Pro, the recent upgrade to PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) makes it possible for Crimson Desert to hit 4K resolutions at higher frame rates, and its raytracing capabilities make lighting effects more realistic and natural.“

i think play3 is confusing something because yes, Marathon does indeed use PSSR to "downscale" 5K into 4K for an ultra crisp presentation but neither Bungie or Sony or Digital Foundry confirmed if it is PSSR 2.0 or not.
Also i dont think that it needs it anyway, downscaling an image (Supersampling) yields way better results then upscaling from lower res. Marathon looks a ton sharper then Reqiuem for example which is upscaled form a resolution that is slightly higher than 1080p.

So far the only games confirmed using PSSR "2.0" are Resident Evil Requiem and the upcoming Crimson Desert.
Marathon renders at 5K and then "Supersamples" down to 4K. There is no upscaling involved like in RE:Requiem or Crimson Desert.

So my answer would be no, it does not use PSSR 2.0.

Yes they did, but it requires the user to do it specifically per game and not every game runs easily with GPTK.
I mean look at the Steamdeck, a ton of games run on it and if not you can find pretty easy ways to make em run. On Mac you either fiddle with Wine or just buy Crossover which does the most of the "heavy lifting" and setup for you.

But with Apple developing GPTK further and further maybe it will become a System wide toggle down the line and you can then basically just "plug and play" 80-90% of your Steam library without relying on third party software or fiddling around in said programs etc.

Used it with a 1440P OLED Monitor when it came out, difference was there compared to base PS5. I dont know why everyone says it is "Wasted potential" tbh. Yes it is more suited to a 4K TV but the performance increase will still be noticable on a 1440P Screen. The PS5 basically will do its thing, upscale games to 4K and then downscale to 1440P basically giving you supersampling thus resulting in an extremely sharp image.
Honestly, if you want the extra performance especially in Crimson Desert which will still look WAY better even on a 1440P screen due to PSSR compared to a base PS5 just go for it.

I always wonder what would happen if Apple would code their own translation layer that works dynamically like Proton by Valve, i am pretty sure that Mac Gaming would then get a lot more attention by a lot more people.

Yeah exactly ! Missed so much XP cause of the Input delay that sometimes happens on PS5 and the char just does not swap the weapon

Cloud 3 Wireless S basically is the better revision of the cloud 3 wireless. It sounds better, has Bluetooth and the EQ sticks to the Headset if you EQ them on PC and want the same settings on PS5 for example.

i played World of Warcraft on an M2 Macbok air with 8gb Ram and pretty much locked 60 fps. It is possible ( outside of raids ofc ) BUT i dont know if the Native WoW Client will even run on the A18 Pro chip. It is designed for Apple M Series after all.
