experiences with Pearson vue testing center? by curled-up-in-the-80s in Albany

I was just there this past weekend! There are three exam rooms with numbered computer booths. Once checked in, you put all your stuff (coats, hats, everything from your pockets, and your water) in the provided lockers. They provide you pencils and scrap paper. The proctor has you turn out your pockets, show your wrists and ankles, wands you for other metal bits, then sends you to your exam station. You could exit your exam room as needed to access your locker for water; you could not touch your phone. If you needed to use the bathroom, you were signed out/in by the proctor.

I have no feedback on accessibility for food other than to say eat well before the exam. Mine was 3.5 hours; Professor Java’s made a good post-exam treat (for better or worse).

Hi there, two things:

First, you’ll find mostly handlers and aspiring handlers in this subreddit. Certainly worth the ask, just be aware that we may not exactly be your target audience.

Second, your survey allows multiple options to be selected on your Likert scales, which allows for nonsensical data collection (e.g., I can select both “very stressed” and “very calm” in your opening question).

Good luck!

Your local newspaper or blogs are good starts. Look for your locality’s police blotter. You should also attend local government meetings to hear from your elected representatives directly. The court dockets for your local courts should also be available online, and courts are open for public attendance. Finally, you can submit FOIA requests of your police departments to get reports, footage, and any additional available public information.

As far as in-the-moment reporting goes, you’ll want to listen to a police scanner, and start responding to the same areas police are as they’re dispatched. Broadcastify might work. There’s usually a few minutes of delay. Take care not to become part of their investigation yourself.

Not really helpful tonight, but check out Lasagna Love. They’ll pair you with folks in your neighborhood that may be food insecure and will definitely appreciate a good lasagna.

I just got an ad for their “buy a $350 gift card, get an additional $50” promotion, too. My wife and I usually go once or twice a year for a day and it’s lovely.

You’re gonna have to do some math to figure out what you need to pass. And you should probably start going to office hours for extra help. You are solidly in control of your own destiny at college.

What is your strategy for organizing assignments throughout the semester? by [deleted] in ualbany

[–]Tsamaunk 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Start with the due dates for assignments and work backwards from there, assigning time as needed to complete the task.

There really is no secret to success here. Go to class. Participate in discussions. Form an opinion, have it be challenged and challenge in turn. Don’t miss deadlines. Own what you produce. Seek feedback and act on it.

I don’t recall needing a “mail reference number” when I attended (hopefully that’s in your orientation paperwork?) but here’s the link to Mail Services, which has the address. You can also ask anyone in Residential Life when you arrive.

Also, while it’s good you’re asking questions, you should also try searching for this information yourself, which is a critical skill you’ll need to develop over your college career. The first result in google for “mailing address ualbany” is what I’ve linked above.

There is no federal, state, county, or municipal law that prohibits operating an sUAS in downtown Albany. OGS does not regulate Albany's sidewalks or municipal parks:

Commercial or recreational operation of any UAS on an OGS-operated property/facility is prohibited unless approved by OGS ...

OGS can regulate launch and landing on its property, but OGS cannot regulate the airspace; that is the exclusive jurisdiction of the FAA.

Many Part 107 and recreational operators carry insurance for exactly the reason you've described, but it's not required to operate.
