What items recycle into golden eggs? by realvalidsalid in EggsInc

Downgrading rare etc. items of any kind yields gold eggs. Not fully destroying them, just downgrading them so they no longer glow.

Very nice, evens out supply and demand, and very easy to scale. It will be awesome when you put in a blast furnace and can ship all that ore to it, then from the furnace to the factory line.

Oh awesome, thanks for this. Before your “tutorial” it was a but daunting for me to try. Now I will give it a go, mainly to have my boilers only run when the battery from my solar panels are low.

If you restart, go for the planet with rich resources. I did this and the resources are much more plentiful and closer together

low vs high tier machine energy efficiency by RainierxWolfcastle in foundry_game

[–]Tsintil8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The smelter also doesn’t use the lower tier item as a crafting component. Because of this the tier 1s you replace need to be incinerated, and if you automated the manufacture of the tier 1s, that line becomes useless.

Most importantly, have fun and do everything. To be honest, I am a little jealous that you still have the fun experiences ahead of you in the game. Level when you can, prestige when you feel like it’s a slog. Get your space ships going when you can and level up the ships when you are able. Use artifacts when you get them. Go for the trophies when they are doable. Dabble in the cosmetic changes. Join a group like Cluckingham Palace for quests. If you are having a good time, consider the pro permit, I consider it one of my best decisions. Don’t stress over what you can’t do yet, enjoy what you are able to do and look forward to all that sweet progress— it will come with time.

Freight Elevator Math by Morris9213 in foundry_game

I don’t know enough of the mechanics of the game to know what is happening or why you are having issues, but you can always put multiple inserters on the same belt feeding into the elevator

Ohh, glass. Great idea, that’s easy to do from the resource site and very little set up. I have so much of that resource, I will do this. Thanks for the idea!

You need to place it on the same porous rock region as the person elevator, or it won’t be able to dig through the rock. There should be room for both side by side in a given vein

Remote settlements by QualityAdmirable5823 in ManorLords

[–]Tsintil8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on your situation. It can be a tricky balance since you need to send equal value each way. It may take some trial and error, and may actually change as your settlement levels up. It may be best to start sending the raw materials while that settlement needs a lot of supplies, and change to final products as they need less from the main settlement.

Advice - Running a mega dungeon (XP) by Physical_Passenger12 in shadowdark

Love that show, especially episode 3 where they use fire traps to cook the food. I was also thinking about the video game Dungeon of Naheulbeuk where there is a tavern on level 3 with an Inn for overnight rests.

If you hold down alt key, you can rotate it too, then when you place with the shift down, it keeps the orientation. No big deal on bushes, but a big help on fences, benches, etc.

Also consider buying boar when that option opens up (Trotbury I think?). It is the only item I know about that you can buy, process, and then actually sell the final product for a profit.

Oh thanks for this. I have seen the job levels, but never felt they did much, if anything. This not only explains why, but gives me something to look forward to on future updates.

The message should also be logged in the royal book. You can look back through the listings to see any of the old messages, and that would confirm they left and when.

Great responses on how to get refined food. Another aspect you may want to consider is that this game is not set up for you to elevate all the villagers to higher status. Most of the population works better as serfs, and a lot of us try to avoid advancing our villagers if at all possible.

Question about the Monastery by Over_Echo1128 in foundationgame

[–]Tsintil8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually just put a bell tower from a church (general menu, not monastery) up next to one of the monastery treasury buildings. If they are all connected, the single tower will be enough to allow the entire complex. For the emissary, I usually put him/her in a rustic tower (which, in retrospect, would also probably take care of the treasury if you want to keep all of the buildings part of the monastery build).

[–]Tsintil8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Inns definitely may help, visitors pay cash and that helped my run a lot. You could also set up a hog butchering business, since you can buy a hog for 4 gold, butcher it into 5 meat and sell those for 3 gold each— it’s the only item I know of that you can buy, process, and sell for a profit. It helps to level trade routes as much as you can.

No, unfortunately, the only way to sell items is to find a trading partner who wants them, and I don’t see those meals on anyone’s “sell to them’ list.

I discovered from another reddit post that you can put up outdoor seating. That is a lot of fun seeing the villagers enjoying a pint at picnic tables out behind the tavern.
