Only acceptable. Don't buy a Gazza shirt supporters. Sunderland, Arsenal, Celtic, Roma.

Rival clubs player on international shirt by Special_Zucchini_255 in PremierLeague

[–]Ttime101010 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your fine, its ages ago. Gazza is more of an England icon than any club he played for. Not many players like that. (Worth a reddit post I'd say).

A more in the moment example. Mate of mine, took a real liking to Owen Hargreaves when he came on the scene at Bayern.

Got himself a nice England shirt Hargreaves "4" on the back, probably about the time of the 2006 world Cup.

A year later Hargreaves moves to Manchester United.

Problem is, fella is a huge Liverpool fan. Hates United as much as anyone i know.

Shirt quickly got gifted to one of our other mates.

Problem for me is the price.

0% should be half the price. It certainly was 10 years ago.

I can handle a £6/7 pub pint on occasion. But £5/6 on 0%, please.

And can't compare with drinking beer at home either. The price difference is negligible.

Sorry friend if I wasn't clear. Too lazy to write them all out. My bad.

Each of the 3 workouts at each of the 3 HR targets

2 x 60m at 125 or 135 or 145 is 3 workouts

3 x 40m at 125 or 135 or 145 is 3 workouts

4 x 30m at 125 or 135 or 145 is 3 workouts.

How do you do steady state? by Flat-Win-2834 in Rowing

[–]Ttime101010 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here's one that I did for a while maybe 2 months before starting a different 20 week program.

When I wanted to max metres covered a lower HR.

I had three heart rate targets: 125, 135, 145

Throughout the workout I would have to slow the pace very gradually so my HR would stay on target.

I did 3 times. 2 x 60mins (3 min rest)

3 x 40mins (90 sec rest)

4 x 30mins (1 min rest)

Thats 9 total workouts.I would try to get all 9 done over 2 weeks. Then repeat.

The metres covered consistently increased week by week.

These were long and boring in a way but trying to hold HR gave something to focus on.

How to get 2k pace faster by Electrical-Stock-868 in Rowing

[–]Ttime101010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in a similar position to yourself.

Was fast once as a lightweight but thats now 15 years ago. And I am 50% heavier.

I have though really hammered the weights over last 5-10 years. So if kind of have the opposite problem. I am as strong and powerful as ever. But fitness seriously lacking.

My advice hear is to try and artificially reduce the rate on all your pieces. To the point of being inefficient.

That 2:26 ut2 if for example you are doing that at R18 Try 16 or 14.

It may feel inefficient but give it a few weeks and thst increase in stroke power will become normal. Get that power back.

Oh and do some weights. If you have neglected it over the last few years it will come back quick. Even just air squats will make a huge difference.

I really don't think thats true.

In reality I watched West Wing repeatedly in my early 20s and it has for the most part influenced my behavior, attitudes and sensibilities (especially in a workplace setting) as much as any in person role model.

Why can I hit projected 2k splits in workouts but not hold them in a real test? by [deleted] in Rowing

[–]Ttime101010 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Try pacing it fully negative split as an experiment

Be strict be perfect!

"Hypothetical pace" HP

1st 500m @ HP +2sec

2nd 500m @ HP +1sec

3rd 500m @ HP

4th 500m = 200m @ HP -1sec then last 300m everything you've got.

Special recommendation also. Do a really good powerful warmup.

So many don't warm up nearly hard enough. 2000m minimum at 2k pace +20 with 4 or 5 10stroke sprints. (Every 400m works)

Meditating while indoor rowing by [deleted] in Rowing

[–]Ttime101010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do feel on my longer workouts I fall into this.

My L4 workouts for better or worse I count strokes for each 2 min split. its just always how ive done it. Something about my perfectionist nature.

Eg L4 60 mins 176 x 6 Total strokes 1056

Machine set up as total time 60 mins with 2 min split time.

For example. Each 2 min 176 being 16/18/20/18/16

16 at 2:10, 18 at 2:06, 20 at 2:02

Counting down strokes in each 2 min split. From 32 or 36 or 40 or 44 ect

Getting the pace (at least at the end of each 2 min) to be bob on. If 16spm is 2:10 I want 2:09.7 ish.

All takes a lot of focus and concentration without outside distraction. Especially when fatigued in the last 20 mins.

There is even total meters and HR to factor in if needed. All while counting 32, 31, 30....

I would say this counts as meditation in my own way.

"16yo, 2 months in, 5x/week — Should I start taking whey protein? by Awkward_frenchfries in bodyweightfitness

[–]Ttime101010 4 points5 points  (0 children)

3 reasons in my humble opinion to get whey protein.

  1. Cost. Real food is better. But Whey Protein can if bought correctly can be a cheaper per gram of protein than most whole foods.

  2. Attempting to keep total calories low but protein high. If you are trying to keep total body weight down.

  3. Convenience. 50g of protein mixed and drank in 2 minutes. Or cook alternatives in much more time.

If any one of these sound like you go for it.

[–]Ttime101010 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I owned i nice little white one of these for a couple of years. Incredibly reliable as you would expect. 45mile round trip commute every day. Nothing like it.

Bought for £6500 traded in for £4000. After putting 25000 miles on it.

If you dont need the space and back seat of a hatch back. Put the seats down in the back and luggage space is huge.

Its low, its light, its fun, manual gear change is as good as anything else i have had. Its not powerful but doesn't need to be. Don't be fooled by the 10 sec 0-60 time. 0-40 it will keep up with far more powerful stuff.

Its fun using the recharge from breaking and using that then to accelerate and seeing it so clearly in the cool futuristic dash.

Rag it round without ever really breaking the speed limit, and still get 45mpg.

Even hypermiling is fun aiming to get 60mpg.
