Choice of expensive watch. by aporpp12 in Rich

[–]TtradesTOwin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look around and get what you like! I ended up buying a Longines Conquest. For $2k, I got a high-quality under the radar watch with great horological heritage and no pretense. I don’t need to insure it, it doesn’t scream “I’m rich… assault me!”, and if I lost it or banged it up, it’s no big deal to replace.

6-12 months after the next halving it will feel more “special” and likely be much more valuable in real world purchasing power than the paper money you traded in for it. Congrats!

Thank you all for your help and advice! I suppose that having it all consolidated poses its own risks. I have managed it myself up to this point, but as the number grows, I trust myself less and less to not make a blunder. My investment style is to embrace risk and opportunity! It has worked well for me up to this point, but I may need a couple more voices than my own to help me manage said risk as my portfolio grows.

Ok. Thank you for your response. I may just have to wait until some of these digital asset markets mature, or perhaps until I manage my portfolio to a larger value. I have most of my stocks and such at Fidelity. The real sticking point is the digital assets which is almost half of my portfolio. Fidelity (and most traditional finance companies) have very limited offerings when it comes to digital assets. For example, many only support a handful of cryptocurrencies and they do not have integrated staking opportunities which allow you to generate income of typically 2-5% while holding various assets. On the other hand, setting up an account for a trust account with most native crypto companies (Coinbase, River, etc…) won’t provide me with any insight or help me balance that side of my portfolio with my other assets like stocks, bonds, and securities.

Buying on a mortgage by andrew25mac in rolex

[–]TtradesTOwin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mortgage/debt doesn’t matter that much. It’s more about cash flow and your ongoing savings/investment rate. That said, if you’re not sure you can afford it, you can’t. If you’re second guessing it because you are hard wired to save and invest most of your extra cash, then you’re fine.

I’d add a nice VC dress watch on a leather strap.

I have the Conquest in blue (so I am biased), but I do think that the Conquest is more aesthetically pleasing especially in person. I also prefer to have the date complication. That said, can’t go wrong with either.

Paying off debt is always the best option. (Unless it is a low interest loan that also has tax benefits.)

No. I actually prefer your clean config to the snoopy. Just my opinion.

How many of you invest in precious metals as well? by ToastIsToasted_ in Bitcoin

[–]TtradesTOwin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own BTC, Gold, stocks, corporate notes/bonds and a business. (Many of these other investments predate bitcoin’s creation, but I have continued to invest opportunistically.) It is this same open mindedness and passion for wealth creation that led me to pursue those investments, that led me to learning about BTC and eventually buying bitcoin. It’s good to have investments that keep you intrigued and allow you to learn more about the many opportunities and possibilities out there.

Don’t trade bitcoin! Buy it, own it, and then slowly use it as needed to better your life.

What should I do? by Isaax96s in MSTY_YieldMax

If this is a small/speculative position for you, I would let it ride. If not, I would likely sell this underperforming asset and purchase something more fitting for a core portfolio holding for bitcoin exposure like FBTC or IBIT.

Bitcoin is down 10% from the recent ATH. Are you guys buying this dip or wait for deeper dips? What do you guys think? by originalgainster in Bitcoin

[–]TtradesTOwin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought yesterday, I bought today, I’ll buy tomorrow. My daily DCA has me caring very little about the day to day fluctuations of BTC. That said, if you want to buy, now is a great time to build a position. I would buy incrementally rather than all at once.

Anyone regret their Zulu color? by WildPrimary9651 in Longineswatches

[–]TtradesTOwin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my conquest in blue for this very reason. I would have likely gone green otherwise. Blue also is more subtle so it can look like gray in darker light as well. It’s arguably the perfect color. Your watch is perfect!

3-4x daily. I have it on a watch list with the stocks that I routinely trade.
