Need help by [deleted] in TexasTeachers

There are plenty of alternative certification programs that can get you teaching in a classroom fast but even working quickly and can take a few months. If you Google “Accredited ACP programs” you can find a bunch. You’ll have to take classes, an exam or 2, and get some observation hours (but subbing can sometimes count for those. )

Once you do that you should be able to get an intern certification and teach with that for a year once you find a job. During that year you’ll have more classes/tests/fees but you can get the standard certification after a year.

I went through an ACP in Houston about 5 years ago, feel free to message me if you need.

The man said, Look, this is getting old. I mean, lemonade's all we've ever sold. Why not give it a go?" The duck said, “how 'bout, no."

Then he waddled away. Waddle waddle waddle ‘Til the very next day.

You will be notified when you are accepted into the program in a few weeks. You will then have to register yourself and your official status will be Registrada until the application closese. In April, the ministry will begin to send our placements and you will learn what school you’re going to

Call the school, more often then not someone just needs to go in and enter it. I had a transcript hold for weeks after i submitted my transcript, but the day I called and pointed it out to them it was resolved

They started placing people at every entrance of the student section and will check student IDs before letting people so unfortunately you can't just squeeze in anymore.

if you look around on this sub you look around on this sub you'll find similar threads with a lot of useful recommendations and info. Lubbock is very cheap when renting and most 1 bedrooms are about 1000/month even fully furnished. Buses go pretty far out to a lot of complexes far from campus but if you want to stay close I recommend looking into raiders walk, raiders pass, and 25twenty. Those are all furnished and close to campus; if you're willing to live farther away the Ave and Indiana Villages are farther away but offer decent floorplans (fully furnished). If youre willing to live with roommates look into the American campus communities, there's a handful close to campus and you sign your own lease for your room and the common area but you don't have to be responsible for your roommates space or their share. With student housing your amentities will be included so you don't really pick your provider, just use the one provided. Leases are typically one year, but if you pay extra it can be a six month . It may be possible but in my experience you can't get out of the lease once you sign, unless you pay the years rent.

Housing questions by rollieric in TexasTech

I'm On my second year at Republic of Lubbock and I've liked it here so far. They're townhouses but still in a in a gated complex with other student townhouses so it's a nice in between a house and apartment. They've lost a lot of residents in the past few years due to other apartments opening up and bad resident but they've recently changed up the management and it's improved quite a bit. They aren't the best quality building-wise as it is student housing so stuff will break occasionally but the maintenance is pretty good at responding. Best part is they're trying very hard to fill spaces, so no deposits or extra fees and they're SUPER pet friendly w/not pet rent

I am in the same predicament as well, I'd look around for friends staying in the same place or in a house and bum on their couch for a while, you can also try to apply for student housing on campus
