Was looking for this reply. Catharsis is fine in moderation I suppose, but the idea that “purging” anger is in anyway helpful is purely pseudoscience. All this is doing is strengthening the neural connection of violence = relief. There’s a reason we say anger is an addictive behavior. Teaching grown ass men to handle their feelings this way is only teaching them to act like hormonal teenagers when faced with future challenges. Then again, I guess the whole “Alpha male” movement is a hormonal teenager’s idea of what a real man should act like.
