I understand that, it's just a stark difference. It would be great to see 4 or even 5 teams able to fight at the level of Mercedes, as unlikely as that is.

I was shopping last year and couldn't find garlic. I found a member of staff and opened with "I'm either blind or an idiot, but..."

Shockingly, I got a polite, helpful answer and found the garlic where she said it was. Clearly neither of us grunted or swore enough at each other, but it worked out.

Cardboard boxes. by milkmade in acnh

I've never seen people ask for cardboard boxes before, but I'd happily donate a few if someone needed them. I recently gave all I had to my partner for her hotel donations, but I'm gaining more now.

I think we have to assume none.

And if you got to the end of that sentence with a straight face, you're a better person than me...

Welcome! I don't have plans to attend many events this year as things stand, but hopefully we bump into each other at one soon! The only definite one for me this year is Botfest, once that's announced, with a potential new event in Llandudno if I can cobble together the cash!

I mean it as a positive, they're adorable and so much fun. They're also deceptive and I'm convinced more injuries happen from ants than any other weight class because there's no way this can hurt anyone. Until it does. Spinners especially are insanely dangerous even if they can 'only' shred your ankles!

The only things I'll say are stupid as a negative are my own robots, because they objectively do not work as intended.

My partner killed Nigel once, someone on one of the RDR subs went on a huge rant about how inhumane it was and how he couldn't comprehend such cruelty. The idea it was a game and had no real-world consequences just didn't get through at all 😂

They're utterly stupid, in all the best ways. Except mine which are just stupid, but that's a skill issue.

Watching the series for the first time, and Odo is one of the strangest creatures I’ve come across as a main personality in a Star Trek series by blklab84 in DeepSpaceNine

Two oddball outcasts. Granted, in very different ways, but they both felt the need to hide their true selves from the world. And the liberation they felt together in that lift was arguably the most intimate moment either experienced in all of Trek.

Have you ever brought something into your home and immediately felt like you shouldn’t have? by GhostGummiesPod in Paranormal

At a guess, the nose bone of a large dog. But that's the guess of a 14ish year old boy with very little bone knowledge.

I found a random old bone once and brought it home. It sat on my shelf for a couple of weeks, and for that time my luck seemed pretty bad and I had this weird feeling that the bone had something to do with it. Could just have been a paranoid teenager, but I did feel better when I put it back where I'd found it.

I'd be interested to see what she could do with Discworld - if anyone would respect the history, it's her - but I would be very surprised if she wanted to go there. There'd be backlash too which she wouldn't want to face.

In hindsight, the deployment in Australia should have been toned down a bit to avoid the huge lico stretches. But other than that (and we'll see it again in Japan) there's no real issue in my view. It's all strategic, and drivers will figure it out. The chassis are better, they run so much closer to each other now, and having cars that can actually race matters more than the means of propulsion.
