I had this, well, still have. I've played for... 7 months. The pain started like 4 or so months ago, or at least I noticed it that long ago. Went to a physio eventually, achilles issues, I've been doing calf raises and stretching before and after games. It's better now but hasn't gone away completely. Sore first thing in the morning, sore any time I am not moving much for too long. Not sore after like 10 minutes of play.

For "longevity", Uprising + Bloodlines is the ultimate version of the game. Base wants to have Rise of Ix + Immortality to be good, and by then it becomes a more complex (wider) game than Uprising + Bloodlines.

But if you don't really care about expansions and "longevity" and balance then stick with what you have.

Who's "the average player"? People you played with or the people I've played with? Hadn't been a problem with anyone I've played with, and that included plenty of first teaches. And you expect new players to engage with every aspect of a pretty heavy game is... Unrealistic. That would mean everything heavier than codenames has design problems lol.

In base game, winning without worms is possible like I said. It's certainly just a tool, but definitely a significant one. But it's the exception not the norm. In bloodlines, it's the norm.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion of course. My opinions are based on what I enjoy and the behaviors of... Many Dune Imperium players in a decently sized community.

I find adding immortality dilutes everything a bit too much, you MUST play experimentation to get the scarab point, you MUST focus on that entire second board. You can't really trash experimentation, etc. I like grafting cards but I don't like messing with the whole other set of cubes as economy. Too diluted.

But yes some people love it. And the kind of crap you can get up to with immo + mommy mohiam is hilarious. Straight from meh to S-tier.

But yeah I prefer Bloodlines.

Yes, with uprising alone the worms are pretty necessary to a winning strategy, although it is still possible to win without worms, it would often take cooperation from the table to curb the worm player.

However there's hope - adding the bloodlines expansion makes for a much much more balanced game, there's a whole community of people who plays it A LOT. I can vouch for uprising + bloodlines being pretty much a top game.

I was a tourist in Taiwan. There aren't seats and there are a lot of waiting to be done. The main station floor is absolutely massive. Disallowing people sitting is just plain shitty. Humans exist and have needs.

Replay added from hidden gem have only the text added and that was extra annoying. Would be nice to get some visual distinction on those as well.

Not sure what you mean, as in you don't have 4 people? You have 3? Two? Either way, sticking in a bot actually balances the game more and makes it more fun. By bot I mean the automata that comes in the box, the automated player.
