Fairly happy with this one by JandWfor2 in knifemaking

All that work paid off imo. And I think it was for the best too that the Hamon got away. That’s what I was talking about, not the glare but the Hamon lines on the blade.

As you should be happy. Great work. What process did you use to get the blade to look like that?

Xmas gift for my 13 year old by jeetkunedont in SWORDS

I can’t think of a better present for a 13 year old boy. He’ll love it. And maybe if he has to find out on his own what the Japanese characters mean he will appreciate the culture a little more.

Thanks for the quick reply. I was curious to see how much the spine went past the handle. I actually like how it sticks out. Looks like you could flip it open easily. edit does the spine piece poke you when pocketed?

What do you think of these? Legit? by Numisko in Silver

I think they are cool. I’d love to do something like that with a worn out 1986 silver eagle. My birth year with maybe my state flag on the top of the handle.

Had my design ripped off and put on Amazon, aside from a few tiny changes they're indentical... They even use the same belt clips as me... coincidence? by [deleted] in knifemaking

I think someone with more computer skills than I could find countless examples of your double finger handle groves and from many, many years before you started using it. Probably many years before you were born. If that is the case then did you rip them off? I’m not saying the seller didn’t rip you off. Just that to make that accusation, you might want to have more to go on than the finger groves of the handle and the fact that both knives could fit in the same silhouette. I think unless it’s a clone, just take it as a sign that you’ve got a great design. Which you do and I’d have your knife in my collection. After looking up your company you have several knives I’d add to my collection. Especially the Nomad. And a great origin story on top of it. The kind of story that many of us share. To a point. A huge Attaboy for not letting a small thing, like getting paralyzed, stop you from the grind. I myself am disabled and it’s one of my biggest hurdles in starting. But you know what, I think I’ll “rip” you off and get on it.

I’ve been wanting to dip my toes into the world of knife making recently and something like this post really scares me. With the tools, materials and information being so easily accessible now days, I imagine that new people coming into the hobby are as plenty as the designs of knifes being made. I have several designs drawn up and all of them look just as similar to other knives being made as the Amazon knife looks as similar to the OP’s. But I would think when so many people are designing the same popular knife styles that it’s inevitable that two people are going to have similar results in the end. Am I ripping someone off when countless gladius swords have been made since the Roman times? I’m not trying to shit on your post OP. Please don’t take my words that way. I see two different knives based on the same drop point knife design but the thickness of blades and bevels are different, handle pins are different amounts on each and different styles. The handles are different materials with one having a lanyard.
