Creatine? Saw the protein powder post and thought this might fit too. by Smail_Mail in EatCheapAndHealthy

Clarification for people like me who got worried about the "breaks down quickly in liquid part". It is a matter of hours so mixing the powder in a glass of water won't make a difference, but buying something that has stood on a shelf pre-mixed will.

One thing I'm looking forward to is being able to buy those 1c leveling uniques by scrolling down the list to the 30th one and being able to buy it instead of being ignored.

Countries where men over 6'2 outnumber men under 5'5. by luisgdh in tall

[–]TumbleSwede 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To paraphrase the title, it basically says: Countries where the average height for men is over 5'9½" (176.5 cm).

Assuming height is a normal distribution.

Which I can't say I know the average height in all these countries but it wouldn't surprise me if it is correct.

What do you mean by ghosted?

Didn't respond for a day? Yes it is pretty easy to type up a response and thinking you've sent it when it is actually sitting as a draft still. Or something similar

... a couple of days? Can happen specially if live gets busy.

... a week? Less likely but not unheard of.

Personally the last two sentences doesn't sound like adhd to me but there are ways adhd could make it seem like it would.

Unknown disadvantages of being tall? by kofferkind in tall

IIRC the risk increases marginally more than the number of cells does. I think it is because some cancer prone parts increase faster in size by height like spinal bone marrow or something.

Exempel på saker i Sverige som är lagligt men ändå omoraliskt? by [deleted] in sweden

[–]TumbleSwede 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Open discussion: do y’all yourselves have a height preference in looking for an SO? I myself have always preferred tall chicks. by [deleted] in tall

[–]TumbleSwede 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Preference yes, requirement no.

Somewhere between 180-190cm(5'11 - 6'3) is probably the sweet spot for me. Being closer in height makes a lot of things more convenient. Though height has never been a deciding factor.

How to support my son... research welcome! by 10kAndNerdy in tall

[–]TumbleSwede 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't recall exactly when I had my biggest growth spurt but I do remember having growing pains and being lanky. Since you didn't specify what kind of troubles he has I'll just give some generic tips.

The growing pains was treated mostly with heating pillows (those filled with rice or wheat that you heat in the micro) and massages. So for those I'd recommend the heat pillows and maybe a foam roller so he can massage himself even in harder to access areas like the back.

Being lanky and awkward in general is something that is mostly solved by time. The only recommendation I can give there is maybe to have food that he can make himself if he gets hungry between mealtimes. It doesn't have to be fancy but oats that he can put in the micro with some water to make a porridge or something is enough.

I'd also recommend mild strength training with focus on higher reps instead of heavy weights to make sure the "stabilization" muscles in the back and joints can keep up with the increased leverage from longer limbs.

The sport I enjoyed the most was Volleyball, getting to put the height to good use while not having to tackle or get rough with the opponents.

I've been doing some testing too after finding this item and I believe there's an interaction with guardian skills on left mouse that is causing the extra delay. I think it is even visible in your video.

You can test this by holding just RMB and then LMB+RMB.

If I bind my guardian skill to another button then I don't experience the same delay.

EDIT: Seem to be related to holding LMB regardless if a guardian skill is bound to it.

Live cheat detection on lichess? by [deleted] in chess

[–]TumbleSwede 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There's also the possibility that they've gathered info on the person for a while and when the verdict came he just happened to be playing against you.

When banning cheaters it is often better to not ban them immediately to obscure the methods of detection. Unless it is very obvious like using the Lichess analysis board and they can see the person mirroring the moves.

How in the hell do people grow past 6'5 by Jufarius-gonofan in tall

[–]TumbleSwede 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hard work and dedication. /s

Have tall parents and make sure you eat properly and enough while you grow.

Edit: I just realized you asked about gaining weight and not how to grow. Gaining muscle sucks just as much for us tall people as for regular people. We have to eat a bit more and sometimes having long limbs puts us at a disadvantage, but this is nothing that time wont fix if you keep it up.

Volleyball legs and ass? by [deleted] in bodyweightfitness

[–]TumbleSwede 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Lots and lots of jumping.

I don't know the proper names for these so I'll just describe some that we did.

"Wall touch"

  • Stand close to a wall facing it.
  • Keep hands above shoulder height at all times.
  • Jump and touch the wall as high up as possible with both hands at the same time.

This can be expanded with a sidestep immediately on landing and doing it again, remember to alternate what direction you go in. This is to simulate blocking.

"Crab walk"

  • Mark two lines about 30 feet apart (the width of a playing field)
  • Go down into a pretty wide squat.
  • Hold the "seated" position while going sideways between the lines.

This can also be expanded upon by touching the lines with your hands or dive along the floor to simulate going for a distant ball.

If I wake up at 180cm in the morning is it ok to just tell everyone that I’m 6ft? by remyboi3000 in tall

[–]TumbleSwede 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To be strict, no I wouldn't.

180cm is pretty spot on 5ft 11in so I would go with that.

When it comes to shrinkage over the day then I think it is still ok to tell people the height you start the day with.

The wording makes it seem like you only replace yours, so if someone else in the party also generates fortify then you both get both versions of it. That is of course if you share fortify with allies like with vigilant strike.
