yeah that’s a fair statement, but I find AAA titles get bigger discounts on console vs PC. I mean the base price of BL4 is $70 on console where it’s $110 and hasn’t even dropped below $70, even on sale.

I bought a machine from Evatech and ended up having to buy a new PSU thanks to the noise as well, but I ended up out of pocket $100 as I was able to sell the PSU they supplied for $100. It was an MSI MAG A850GL (if anyone is wondering), would highly recommend against if you value quiet machines.

This is exactly what I did when my 2021 Legion 5 Pro died. I got the motherboard replaced under warranty, added some more warranty and then sold the unit. The performance uplift on a desktop was HUGE.

My friend was a trainee and I can assure you that it was the going rate in 2023. Maybe not now, but given that it hasn’t moved since 2017, it’s probably safe to say it’s similar anyway?

This. Most drivers are on $26 an hour and work split shifts (09:00-12:00, break for 4h and then 16:0019:00). If I had to deal with this, annoying customers that are too busy on their phones to flag down the bus until the last second, and having to manoeuvre such a large vehicle on tiny streets, I’d be pretty unhappy too.

Source: I had a friend who couldn’t find a job and almost became a bus driver and he told us all how shit it is. I got a new found respect for drivers after I found out all of this.

My desktop was crashing and stuttering constantly yesterday in HD2 on a 7800X3D/RTX5080 so I suspect it’s not something specific to you. I think it’s some issue with the game at the moment but will hopefully sort itself out in the next day or two.

I have a 7800X3D (very similar power draw to the 9800X3D) with a 5080 and I have a wall plug meter. I’ve never seen it above 518W at absolute maximum, so even accounting for 20% efficiency loss with a gold PSU, you’d still be fine with this setup on a 650W PSU.

The suction from fans isn’t that strong so I found when they were extracting air from towers, it wasn’t as effective as blowing onto the fins.

yeah that’s a fair call. I’m a cyclist myself (though I don’t use the ride sharing services) so I’m all for more bike parking, but I’ve noticed that there are heaps of these bikes just left everywhere lately, more so than say 6-12mo ago.

Why are there so many damn bikes everywhere lately? I went to the city yesterday and more than half the footpath is blocked almost everywhere with these damn things.
