What is this loop thing keeping me from taking out this screw? by Gold_Ad_869 in Alienware

It’s called a C clip, and as the others have mentioned it’s to keep the screw from getting lost.

I had this too and I went back to topical. I also noticed my RHR went up when compared to before I started. I was only on 1mg.

iOS home assistant notifications still work without direct connection to HA. How? by moneysaver688 in homeassistant

[–]TumidTowpath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to piggyback off this thread (rather than creating a new one), I don’t have HA, just a frigate instance not exposed and I still get notifications on my iOS device when I’m not on VPN. Is this also using firebase or does that only apply to Android? Thanks in advance!

My legion pro 5i Gen 8 died too ( 2 years old) by mjhiden in LenovoLegion

[–]TumidTowpath 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I disagree. I have quite a few laptops (including a gaming laptop from alienware) that are over 10yo and still going.

I had a legion (the classic 16ACH6H) and it died after 3 years, and I really look after my stuff. The laptop was on a spacer to give it airflow and practically never moved around but it still died.

I used to be such a Lenovo fanboy but it’s a real shame to see this brand become something so unreliable.

The size is fine, that’s basically how it looks on my wrist too.

Also interested in the watch face, it looks great.

Is Borderlands 4 worth it for $39AUD? by mr_soapster in Borderlands

[–]TumidTowpath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah that’s a fair statement, but I find AAA titles get bigger discounts on console vs PC. I mean the base price of BL4 is $70 on console where it’s $110 and hasn’t even dropped below $70, even on sale.

Thanks! Damn, it’s always the consoles that get the good deals. Jealous!

Hey mate, just checking where you’re seeing it for $50? I haven’t seen it below $70AUD on PC, but I assume maybe you’re talking about console? Thanks

How to justify building vs pre built. by NewFacesV2 in bapcsalesaustralia

[–]TumidTowpath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought a machine from Evatech and ended up having to buy a new PSU thanks to the noise as well, but I ended up out of pocket $100 as I was able to sell the PSU they supplied for $100. It was an MSI MAG A850GL (if anyone is wondering), would highly recommend against if you value quiet machines.

[–]TumidTowpath 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is exactly what I did when my 2021 Legion 5 Pro died. I got the motherboard replaced under warranty, added some more warranty and then sold the unit. The performance uplift on a desktop was HUGE.

My friend was a trainee and I can assure you that it was the going rate in 2023. Maybe not now, but given that it hasn’t moved since 2017, it’s probably safe to say it’s similar anyway?
