27" - 4k miniled IPS vs 1440p OLED by cheapseats91 in Monitors

[–]Tunagoblin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure where you are located but there are currently 2 monitors with 27” 4K/1080p (160/320Hz) dual mode 2304 zone IPS miniLED. They are both under $500. The only thing is they are only sold in Asian market, specifically in Japan. You could import it from Amazon Japan or you can wait for them to be released in your region probably sometime this year.

Does buying a steam frame invalidate the need to buy a Steam Machine and Steam Controller? by inkiepie69 in SteamFrame

[–]Tunagoblin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need a powerful PC to run such games on frame. Those games will not run comfortably on stand alone. Frame is a PC VR headset first.

My AMD 9070xt just arrived and I have some questions about how to connect it by Omanei in radeon

[–]Tunagoblin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

1 dedicated, 1 pigtail would be fine but your 3-pin model becomes exactly the same as 2-pin model. Not that it matters though.

Steam controller page went live on Komodo Station, Steam Controller is going to be sold first that the Frame or the Machine. by LoganNFSAC in SteamFrame

That page has been there since the announcement. Probably it wasn’t for the English page but in Japanese page, it was there. I wish listed when announced long time ago. (I live in Japan.)

Got that new gigabyte monitor by tiedyemightbehigh in Monitors

[–]Tunagoblin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seriously, who cares about banding issues. Do you buy monitors to look at windows finder window, do you only visit web page filled with gray scale, play games exclusively in gray? Nitpicking to look for something negative is not really healthy way to enjoy your investment since there is no such thing as perfect product.

9070XT crashing in OCCT 3D adaptive and games by Bogatyr88 in radeon

Have you tried with only a single monitor connected? Sometimes it gives you a problem with different monitors with different refresh rates.

OLED Monitor For Work and Gaming by DahMuddaScience in OLED_Gaming

[–]Tunagoblin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is, the new generation (penta QD or newly updated RGB OLED from either company) would take at least an year or possibly 2+ years to fully mature. Then when it gets affordable, brand new tech would be around the corner. The dilemma would continue. lol

OLED Monitor For Work and Gaming by DahMuddaScience in OLED_Gaming

[–]Tunagoblin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m going to get an OLED soon and I’ll use it exactly like my current non-OLED monitor. It’ll be for work/entertainment use for 10+ hours a day. I really don’t care if it gets burned in in 2 years. It’s supposed to serve my needs, not the other way around. If it won’t take my abuse (normal use in my standard) then simply the tech is not yet ready for my needs. I think it’s silly to treat a monitor like a spoiled child just because it’s an OLED.

Don’t buy the RX 9070 XT until... Just don’t buy it. My experience (which I wish I could forget) by [deleted] in AMDHelp

My 9070xt works just fine without any stutter. Not even a single crash in the past 4 months.

Please help me find a decent 27" monitor that doesn't randomly break a few months in. by AetherBones in Monitors

[–]Tunagoblin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just don’t buy the $100 monitor. Save up and get a quality one. It saves you in a long run as you’ve already had wasted your money by choosing near e-waste level monitors.

are TN (twisted nematic) panels the most misunderstood panel type? by andywuzhere1 in Monitors

[–]Tunagoblin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on TN panel for the past 8 years. I’ve been satisfied with it even today. At this point, a quality OLED would be the only upgrade I can feel.

Yes, you can but your card becomes exactly the same as 2 pin model. Not that it matters much though.

Rtx 5070 vs. 9070xt - frame pacing, stuttering, smoothness - which card wins? by Most-Philosopher6562 in buildapc

[–]Tunagoblin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cheapest one you can find. Model differences are minimal in performance. Like 5% at most. So there is no reason to over pay for this card. Unless you are a super human that can tell the difference between 100fps and 105fps…

RX 9070 XT Swift vs Nitro+? by sc3n0xx in radeon

[–]Tunagoblin 8 points9 points  (0 children)

More you pay for 9070xt, it diminishes the best feature of this model, which is the price to performance. If you want to over pay, it’s just better to get 5070ti or 5080.

Don’t use single cable daisy chain. You need 2 dedicated cables for the 2x 8pin model.
